Chapter Twelve - Divine Beauty.

Lee smiled at Mercy's words and ran forward first, surprising the other two.

"All of this training from my mom and Lord Regina has to pay off." Lee thought as he caught up with the Fiend and went on defense, which was Lee's strong suit at the time. The Fiend began to swipe at him with its claws and Lee deflected its first attack but was knocked down to the ground with heavy force. The Fiend pounced on Lee and bit into his right arm. Lee let out a scream as he used his other hand to plunge his dagger into the Fiend's head multiple times, but it didn't budge. Despite knowing it had its claws into Lee's arm, he didn't feel much pain excluding the initial bite. Lee used his strength to roll him and the Fiend over and he plunged his dagger into the wound made by Mercy earlier.

"Get off of me you big lump!" Lee yelled before the Fiend roared in pain and let go of his grip on Lee's arm. He looked at his arm and seen the bite marks from the Fiend but hardly any blood covered his arm. "Huh?" Lee said before he seen a flash of blue, blonde, and rose gold dart across his eyes and hit the Fiend directly in its head.

"QUEEN'S ORDERS! Step away from my Lee!" She yelled taking her foot and sending the Fiend to the ground. The crash made cracks into the stone and the Fiend stopped moving.

"So strong..." Lee said stunned by her amazement. "So pretty..."

He didn't know how loud he said it before he seen Maximum looking at him.

"Finally Lee, you admitted your feelings towards Mercy!" He laughed pointing at him.

"Finally is the perfect word." Mercy replied. "You know Lee, you'll make a great boyfriend one day"!

Lee turned around and looked at both of them embarrassed and in utter shock and noticed his gaze was fixated on Mercy saying those words.

"I-I-I." Was all that Lee could say. Then a distance from all three of them, he seen a figure walking from behind a large boulder and coming towards them.

Without thinking he ran towards the figure in hopes of protecting his team and gaining more points towards Mercy. As he was running a few tears of joy accompanied by a large smile. "She feels the same way...I've got to get even stronger now!" he thought to himself. When he neared the figure, he noticed that it had to be another Fiend. It had Butterfly wings and Praying Mantis blades as its hands and arms...looking at it however it still looked like a human female by its body and face.

Lee tried to slash at her when it held one of its blades up.

*CLING*

Lee dagger bounced off of her blades and she flapped her wings to graciously fly past Lee before his dagger could land from being in the air.

Lee's arms felt like they were burning, and he looked at them. That's when various amounts of blood squirted from them, then all around his body and felt various cuts all over him.

"AHHHHHH!" Lee's bloodcurdling scream echoed in the air. He fell to the ground and began to lose some of his sight.

"LEE! Maximum go get him I'll deal with this one!" Mercy yelled with some anger in her tone and ran directly towards the new Fiend.

"Cursed child...I'll remove you from your fate." She said to Mercy.

Lee was in too much pain to even question about a talking Fiend. A large pool of blood started to form on the stone.

Mercy gripped her Spear and continued running. "I don't know where you came from, but I'll send you to a worse one!" She yelled at the Fiend coming into contact with her. She feinted and waited for the Fiend to counterattack. When she did Mercy jumped into the air at an amazing height. The Fiend flapped her wings and met with Mercy in the air.

"It's fruitless".

She took a swipe at Mercy, but she was fast enough to deflect the attack. The two were trading blows while descending to the air to the ground. Miraculously it seemed both of them were at equal terms.

"Lee!" Maximum yelled finally catching up to him. "You're alright, if the Captain is right this is what you have to do." He said whispering in Lee's ear.

Lee closed his eyes and did what Maximum said do.

"I hope it's true..." Maximum said cupping his hands together and emitted a black hue of light around his body that even stretched to his sword.

"Alright! MAXIMUM EFFORT"!

He darted across the stone to assist Mercy, who was now on the ground fighting the Fiend.

"You're quick, even at your young age." The Fiend said to her.

"Thanks, it's nice to know another species sees my power!" Mercy replied covering her Spear with water again.

"Tasty...I'll have to get a bit more serious".
