As I picked out a fit for Hendrix's pool party I sat it at the foot of my bed as I browsed through social media, liking photos that caught my eye. Then, Shelby's name appeared at the top of my screen. It was just a simple "hey," but it made me smirk, picturing her smile as she sent the message.

We exchanged texts briefly when she brought up the pool party, mentioning she was unfamiliar with Tarzana and unsure of the best or fastest way to arrive on time. I took a moment to consider my reply before sending her a message.

-since you aren't familiar with the area, do you want to ride with me? I'll come scoop you up in a few, unless you need a minute to get ready.

-Shelby: are you sure? I can use my GPS, won't guarantee me not getting lost though. 😂

I laughed softly, continuing to type on my screen before throwing on my fitted cap, with my black curls peeking out from the back.

-I wouldn't want you to get lost, mama. I'll come and pick you up. Are you ready now, or do you need a little more time?

She replied to my text moments later with the address to her penthouse, she instructed me to park beside the silver Honda Civic once I arrived. I quickly finished getting ready before grabbing my keys and heading for the door.

Pulling into the complex I circled around the area before finding her car and parking, pulling my key from the ignition I stepped out of the car and shot her a text to let her know I was outside, I leaned against the hood of my Rollsroyce waiting for her to come out. My phone soon vibrated in my hand, unlocking it I saw she let me know that I could come up and that she was almost ready.

omniscient.

Stepping out of the elevator onto Shelby's floor, Amir made his way to the front door and knocked, then slid his hands into the pockets of his grey Nike shorts. The unexpected wave of nervousness that overcame him was puzzling; after all, this wasn't a date.

She wore a cropped pink bikini top that read "Girls Are Drugs." She paired the bikini with light-wash denim shorts and a pink bucket hat. She then completed her ensemble with black Tory Burch sandals and a white pullover, her hair was neatly in curls resting a little past her shoulders. With her toned flat stomach exposed, she flaunted her diamond-studded dangling belly ring, and Amir couldn't keep his eyes off of her, admiring her beauty.

To avoid being caught staring, Amir swiftly shifted his gaze as she moved aside to let him into her condo, locking the door behind them.

"Sorry for taking so long," she apologized, grabbing her bag and a bottle of spring water. "How was the traffic on your way here?" she inquired, placing her hands on her hips while standing near him. Shelby rested her arm against the kitchen island, while Amir's gaze followed her silhouette as she turned to admire the view from her balcony, with the sun shining and the sky a clear blue.
