The air was charged with anticipation as the students eagerly awaited the clash between Slytherin and Ravenclaw. The Great Hall reverberated with the buzz of conversations and the sound of restless feet tapping on the floor. It was a moment of pure exhilaration, where house rivalries were set aside momentarily, and the entire school came together in unified anticipation for the thrilling spectacle about to unfold.

"Natty, is Quidditch really that big of a deal?" Melody asked as everyone around her did their pre-season traditions.

"Are you kidding Mel? She's joking, right?" Garreth dramatically said as he slid over to them. "Quidditch is amazing! It's the best sport ever invented! Only the truly incredible athletes make the team" he boasted as he himself was one of the chasers for the Gryffindor team.

"It truly is something to witness" Natty added.

"I'm rooting for Ravenclaw to win. Anyone is better than Slytherin, they've held the bloody title for years now" Garreth said.

"We're allowed to cheer for other houses but not wear the colors to support them?" Melody asked.

"It doesn't make any sense but yes" Natty giggled.

"The only other house you better be supporting besides Hufflepuff is Gryffindor" Leander chipped in.

"Only if you don't suck, Prewett" Melody sarcastically told him.

"Please, I'm the best chaser Gryffindor has ever seen" Leander cockily scoffed.

"Second best, mate" Garreth reminded him.

"Mel, where are you going?" Adelaide asked her roommate as she stopped walking with her, Poppy, and Natty. Her eyes staring at something at the other end of the players tunnel.

"I'll meet you up in the stands" Melody said before weaving her way through the sea of students.

"Ominis!" She exclaimed once she reached him.

"Bloody hell!" exclaimed the poor Slytherin, clutching his chest. He was ready to tell whomever to piss off and leave him alone when he recognized the voice to be Melody's. "What are you doing in the Slytherin section of the tunnel, dear?"

"Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you" she immediately said, her voice much softer than it was a few moments ago.

"It's alright dear" he chuckled. "If you're looking for Sebastian you won't find him. He's in the locker room getting the team hyped up and ready to win"

"Actually, I wanted to talk to you. I haven't gotten the chance to spend much time with you since I've been so busy lately"

Ominis felt his heart swell at the fact that she didn't speak to him because she needed something but because she wanted to. "I'm truly touched that you enjoy my company, dear. I've been busy myself, and haven't had much free time. I would be working in the library right now but Sebastian begged me to come to the match"

"He's very persuasive" Melody giggled. "Would you like to come sit with me and my friends? I'd be happy to explain the game to you"

"I highly doubt your friends would be very welcoming to a Slytherin like me" Ominis scoffed.

The change of tone in his voice made Melody step back. A wave of confusion and hurt washed over her as she struggled to comprehend the sudden shift in Ominis' demeanor. She had never heard him speak in such a manner. His bitter voice shattered the image of the gentle and caring person she thought she knew, leaving her surprised and saddened.
