Chapter 6: Defiance

The hours stretched on endlessly in the suffocating silence of the cell, each passing moment filled with an overwhelming sense of anticipation that seemed to hang heavy in the air. And then, just as I thought I couldn't bear the solitude any longer, the sound of footsteps echoed in the corridor outside, signaling Levi's arrival.

As he entered the cell, his presence filled the room with an almost palpable intensity, his eyes boring into me with an unwavering gaze that sent a shiver down my spine. Without a word, he pulled up a chair and settled in front of me, his expression unreadable.

For a long moment, neither of us spoke, the weight of the unspoken tension hanging heavy between us. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, each beat echoing in the silence like a drumbeat of anticipation.

"I'm waiting, Jaeger," Levi finally broke the silence, his voice cold and clipped.

I swallowed hard, the lump in my throat nearly choking me as I struggled to find the words to explain myself. But before I could utter a single syllable, Levi's voice cut through the air like a knife.

"You're acting like an idiot," he spat, his frustration evident in the harshness of his tone. "And I want to know why."

I bristled at his words, the defiance rising within me like a tide threatening to consume everything in its path. Who was he to judge me, to dictate how I should live my life?

"I don't owe you any explanations," I shot back, my voice tinged with defiance.

Levi's eyes narrowed, his patience wearing thin. "You're a part of this squad, Eren," he replied, his voice laced with barely contained anger. "Your actions have consequences, not just for you, but for everyone around you."

I felt a surge of frustration welling up within me, a primal urge to lash out and scream at him, to demand that he leave me alone. But beneath the anger, there was something else—a simmering attraction to the raw intensity of Levi's emotions, the way his anger burned bright and fierce.

And as I met his gaze, a part of me couldn't help but feel drawn to him, to the unyielding strength that seemed to radiate from every pore of his being. It was a dangerous allure, one that threatened to consume me whole if I wasn't careful.

But even as I struggled to push aside the tumult of emotions stirring within me, I knew that I couldn't let myself be swayed by the intoxicating pull of Levi's anger. I had to stay true to myself, to stand firm in the face of his relentless scrutiny.

"I won't apologize for who I am," I said defiantly, my voice ringing out in the silence of the cell.

Levi's gaze softened imperceptibly, a flicker of something fleeting passing across his features before being swallowed by his usual stoicism. "Then you leave me no choice," he replied tersely, rising from his chair and turning to leave the cell.

As the door slammed shut behind him, leaving me alone once again in the suffocating silence, I couldn't help but feel a sense of emptiness gnawing at the edges of my consciousness. For no matter how hard I tried to deny it, there was no escaping the undeniable truth—I was irrevocably drawn to the one person who seemed determined to unravel me completely.
