Amrita
The shattered cup pieces ,the blood droplets all over the place and Vijay's bloody hand each of these secenario are floating in front of my eyes. I was in the backyard practising for the sangeet when my eyes suddenly saw Vijay standing on the balcony with something in his hand . He was looking at something and then the thing in his hand shattered. I could not see due to the distance what exactly happened but got scared and went to check at whatever may had happened.
I knocked on the door and even called his name but upon getting no response my fear was getting stronger. I called again and this time he responded , after hearing his voice my tension eased down a little bit. He opened the door and my eyes started checking for any sort of injuries small or big.
He said everything was fine but something felt weird with him and then my eyes fell on the balcony floor. I didn't wait for him and barged into the room , there was drops of blood almost everywhere on the floor.
I asked Vijay again where he is hurt but he still denied it , my blood had started to boil. I am his soon to be wife and he can't tell me where he is hurt . Am I asking way too much from him? Isn't it my right to know?
He finally showed his wounded hand , it was bleeding so badly and if not bandaged properly could cause infection. I quickly called the reception to get a first aid box and also asked someone to clean the mess.
With every passing second my anger was growing all sorts of questions came to my mind so before Vijay could sense something I quickly finished my work and left. He said thank you to me but those words acted as a fuel to anger. Thank you ....after refusing my help so many times. Before I got out of control I left after saying few words.
"Aaammrriitaaaa", someone from my behind shouted while holding my shoulders and shaking them. "Ahh ", are the only words left my mouth.
"How long are you going to rewear the bangles you wore just a few minutes ago." Payal's frustrated voice brought me back to present.
Right now I was sitting in front of the mirror, wearing the prettiest blue lehenga for my Sangeet tonight but my mind was a mess .
"What's wrong with you", Payal's worried voice came I didn't want to spoil her mood with my problems so I decided to lie saying nothing. But how could I forget that she is Payal , she immediately raised her eyebrows and stared at me clearly indicating she didn't buy mu lie. Sometimes it feels like I could even fool God but Payal never , she just sees right through me.
"Okay fine sit I will tell ", I sighed admitting my defeat. She quickly seated herself in the bed and paid her full attention as if I am gonna teach her anatomy.
"So I am confused about this." I pointed towards myself and my dress. "I feel that I took the decision way to fast just to save my image in the hospital I should not have done that I think... I took a wrong decision ", I finished in one breath.
Payal listened calmly and then grabbed my hand and kept in hers. "Listen love none of this was your fault yes you may have taken a fast decision but this was the best decision you have ever taken. Yes the circumstances on which your marriage was fixed was pretty weird so having this type of feelings is common and even I felt weird about it at first but after seeing Vijay's care towards you yesterday I felt relaxed. You both have got way less time to get to know each other so give him and you a chance and if still things don't work out and you feel unhappy then I will be the first one to kick his ass."
Tears started clouding my vision how did I get so lucky to have a friend like her. I got up from my sit and hugged her tightly she hugged me back.
"Bhabi masi is calling for yo...u...Oh shit did I ruin your moment I am so sor.."
"Aree ..no..no tell ma I will be there in a minute ", I said while wiping the tears from the corner of my eyes.
