3. Happiness ??

"The operation is successful, thank you all for your good work", I announced cheerfully after dwelling for almost 3 hours . "Mrs. Gupta sift the patient to the ICU and keep him under observation ."

I left the OT , when all the tiredness hit me. I quickly washed my hand and headed to the lobby for a coffee break. I was pouring the coffee when a pair of hands covered my eyes. I smiled realising who it was."If you cover my eyes how can I pour the coffee, Payal."the hands instantly moves from my eyes and stomping her feet she made her way to the couch in the lobby."This is not fair how do you recognise me everytime?" "Here drink this  and calm down my angry bird". she took the coffee from my hand and took a sip while I took my seat opposite to her.

"Btw why are in the hospital today was your leave right ?" "yeah I took a leave but mrs. gupta called me for an emergency operation , its done so I will leave after changing". Suddenly her facial expression became a little serious and she asked in a soft yet serious tone " what's going in your head?" I almost chocked on my coffee listening to her words . "Why would you think that?" while cleaning my mouth with tissues.  "Dr. Roy you also know very well i am speaking the truth  so you better tell me the truth."

I sighed realising I have no way out," you remeber about my patient Riya ." "Yeah that little kid you could't stop talking about how cute she looked and felt sorry for her, that one right?" "Exactly her, I met her today in the park and she was not with her nanny" i paused " she was with her father." i completed my sentence and earned a WTF look from Payal . I continued " and her father felt similer  to the boy I met in the orphanage."

"Whhhhaaatttt." she shouted making me jump a little in my palce."did you talk to him about please tell me you did?" i kept my mug on the table at the centre. " No I ......". " whhyy you waited for this so long?" " Payal this is not right i am not even sure if they are both the same person cause the one i met is very rude and has a personality completely different from the past and moreover...." I stood up and Payal also did the same. " and what Amrita?" she asked in a serious tone ." and even if he is the same person he has a kid and a wife ofcourse I can't come between their happiness ."

" What about your happiness Amrita ?" " i am happy , Payal i have you ,my dream job and my patients that's enough", i said with a smile ."but..", before she could finish her  phone rang . she gestured me that she has to go and i gave her a nod and  also left after washing the cups.
