28. Nervousness

Finally today is the D-day I am all ready  just the veil is left to put on . My stomach is doing some weird flips all morning , I felt as if I would faint right here as my palms were very sweaty. I don't think I was this nervous ever before not even on my first time in the surgery as a student.

"Oh Ho , You are looking like a royal Darling. I told you red suits you the best." Payal cheerful voice made me calm down a little bit. She came closer to me and bent a little bit while her hands rested on my shoulder. She did not  say a word rather looked at our reflection in the mirror quietly.

And suddenly  a drop of tear rolled down her eyes. " Hey what happened ", I asked in a soft voice while standing up. She just shaked her head in a no and smiled at me while I wiped the tears off her face.

" Amrita always be happy don't let anyone take your smile away from you and no matter what happens always remember I am by your side. Just a call and I will be at your front door. "

Every word that came out of Payal touched my heart and calmed it . I don't know what I did  in my past life to get her as a frie... Uhh huhh.. Sister . I hugged her tightly.

"Come on Maa I am not a child I can get ready by myself."

I complained while my mom ignored me completely saying that it's my wedding and as a mother that's the greatest thing she can do. So finally the day came am I nervous?
Nahh, Vijay Thakur is never nervous. Or so I thought cause I am just this much away from having a nervous breakdown. This marriage thing is much much more difficult than the no. of difficult projects I have dealt combinedly.

"Ok you are already, hayye! Kinna sona lageya kisi ki nazar na lage". And with that she took some kajal from her eyes and placed it behind my earlobe.

" Acha hogaya apka now sit. You have been running here and there all morning. "

I made her sit on the bed with me I have few questions to ask for a long time which only she could answer but due to all those preparation we never got time to , finally she was with me alone but I couldn't speak a single word and hestitated.

"What do you wanna ask? ", Ma said taking me by surprise how does she knows when I have something to say.

" Maa.. Woh.. I am doing the right thing na? Riya will be happy with all this right?"

Maa sighed, " Listen beta are you doing this marriage only for Riya? You don't feel anything for Amrita?"

I didn't know what to say yes I am doing this for Riya but after the things I felt these days I couldn't convince myself that it was the only reason.

"I don't know Maa ", I finally confessed while Maa gave a little lauge . I looked at her confused.

" Trust me beta I have raised you and the Vijay I know always gave answers in yes or no. So the fact that you hesitated shows your heart. All of this are new for you and her too. A girl leaves everything behind and starts fresh , adjusting , compromising, sacrificing but all of these becomes easier for her if she has her husband by her side. Aur amrita ke liye toh yeh zyada difficult hoga kyunki use bass ek wife nahi ek Maa bhi bana padega. So beta be her support system love her and trust me Amrita will be the perfect person for you. "

Maa's word were coming from the bottom of her heart and she was right I have seen her doing all these while growing up but she did it with a smile cause papa was by her side. And if my Maa says everything will be fine then it will be. I smiled and hugged her tightly until we were called  for the wedding.
