Cars are death machines

This is the second squirrel I see get hit. It was only able to move its tail when I passed by, or maybe that was the wind.

It brought a short moment of fear, and then about five minutes of sadness.

It reminded me of last semester when I was on the same road going to school, and I almost hit a dog. As I was quite frantically slamming on the brakes, the dog trotted across the lane and gave me the most unbothered look. He then hopped the ditch and made it into a yard. It was as if he does that all the time.

Unfortunately, not all dogs make it like him. The squirrels didn't, and some people don't either.

Sometimes I feel like humans have gotten carried away with our technological advancements. Yes, it's convenient, but are the side effects worth it?

I guess to me it is not because I'm left here longing for a different world.
