Nicolette

I awoke to birds singing loudly near my window and a breeze swaying the trees. Sun entered the room through the cracks in in the shades but the opposite corner regions were darker than darkness itself.

I quickly jumped from my bed and grabbed my blue silk robe. I slipped it on over my pajamas and tied it around the waist. Immediately I headed downstairs and into the dining room and sat at the table.

Maids came and went, getting my breakfast ready and making sure I was at ease. I even set up the time for when the car should be ready for my departure.

Hopefully chase will be too busy to notice my disappearance.

I finished breakfast and made a break for it before Chase could catch me. My robe flew out behind me and my nightgown swayed around my ankles. I was halfway up the stairs when I looked back down, of course with my luck I ran into Chases chest.

And of course, he was bringing his mistress down the stairs behind him. Great. I have to seem hurt. I have to play the loving and innocent wife don't I?

I widened my eyes and let my mouth drop open. I put one hand down for support on the hand rail and the other over my mouth.

I forget how many times I have had to do this by now. But it was slowly becoming old. Not even slowly, after the first time I caught him and had to act clueless it was already old for my taste.

I shouldn't have to be married to an unloving moron like him. My parents shouldn't have been allowed to dictate my life. But I can't change any of it, he controls me just like they used to.

I thought of when I last felt my heart break, when it last shattered and let tears come to my eyes. I let out a fake sob and pushed past them as I ran up the rest of the stairs and down the hallway into my room, and for extra affect, slamming the door right behind me.

I heard the woman question Chase. Good he'll be occupied for awhile.

I ran into my bathroom and took a quick shower, just to make sure I was all cleaned up and ready to go.

When I got out I put my robe back on and stepped back into my room. Their talking was louder now, probably on the verge of screaming and yelling.

I could heard the maids bustling around the halls and trying to help calm the situation.

I ran into my closet and grabbed a black skirt and a dark blue tank top with a pair of black Gucci heels which had a golden buckle on the outsides and had 3 inch heels.

I quickly dressed and added diamond studs and a heart necklace with a small diamond in its center and other small and glittering stones on the heart. I slid my wedding and engagement rings off and put on a blue, clear gemmed ring.

I brushed my hair and put it up into a clip before grabbing a cross body black purse and sliding it on. I unlocked my door and slowly peeked my head out.

The yelling couple had been moved downstairs into the dining room so they could sit and talk.

Quickly I took the opportunity and snuck down the stairs and out the front door, grasping the letter tightly in my hand.

Don't worry. I'll be there
