Valentines day soon came up. And..I was still not exactly lucky in love. I'd had a crush on Aubrey for too long now. This wasn't a fan girl type of crush, it was a literal mentally-crushing crush. Not a day went by when I wasn't thinking of Aubrey.

The night before Valentine's Day, I was up all night making Aubrey a cute gift. Roses, chocolate, cute stuffies, everything.

"Woah, legs. It's half seven in the morning. Get some rest." Amy said, rising out of her bed and looking down at me. I was sat on the floor, legs burned by hot glue with an array of empty monster cans and excess paper, rose petals and hot glue stuck to the carpet. I looked up at the blonde and smiled. "She better say yes."

Amy nodded before grabbing Cupcake's leash and calling him over. He came in and started sniffing around the various items littering the floor. "Hey bud. Go with Amy, maybe she'll get Beca to go on a walk with you!" I said, yawning.

"Sleep. If you aren't in bed by the time we're back, I'm gonna kill you." Amy muttered.

I nodded slowly, absolutely no intention of sleeping at all. She left, Cupcake jumping around infront of her, leaving me on the floor.

I finished the gift wrapping and the note before getting up and putting it on my desk carefully. I checked the clock on the desk. 07:32. I knew Aubrey would already be up and ready, considering we had English in two hours and she had a shower before every English lesson.

So I made my way to her dorm. "Aubrey? Can I come in?" I called. "Uh..yeah!"

I opened the door slowly to find her in pink Hello Kitty pajamas, her hair slightly messy and no makeup. It was adorable. Her jaw dropped when she saw my pink mini dress, white heels and perfectly curled hair, then her eyes drifted to the gifts.

"Is this a galentines present or something?" She questioned, walking over to me and smiling. I shook my head and smiled. "No, silly."

"Then...what is it..?"

I took a deep breath before placing them on her coffee table and grabbing the note. "Read this."

Note - Aubrey's POV:

hi! ur probs really confused, so let me explain..

since the day we met i knew that i wanted to get to know you, maybe be best friends, however i never really expected what happened next - i liked you

and i dont mean 'liked' as in liking a friend or liking a lipstick. i mean i wanted to be more than friends with you, bree.

and if you'll have me, i want to try things out.

yes () no ()

End of note - Stacie's POV:

Her lips turned up into a small smile and she shook her head. "I'm sorry, Stace. This is all so sweet, I won't lie, but..I'm not really looking for a relationship right now. I'm a hopeless romantic anyway." She muttered, folding the note neatly and handing it back to me. "You can take your stuff back if you want." She added.

I smiled tearfully. "It's fine. Keep it. Because no matter how long it's gonna take, I'm gonna wait. If it takes ten years or ten decades for us to work out. I'm willing to wait for it, Aubrey. I love you. Even if you don't love me. And I'll understand if you want me to never talk to you again. If you want me to go as far away from you as possible and change lessons so I'm nowhere near you, it's done. Because I..I want whatever makes you happy." I mumbled, turning around to walk out of the dorm.

Her cold hand wrapped itself around my wrist and pulled me back. "No, Stacie, that isn't what I want. I want to make sure you're okay before you go anywhere. I'm just not looking for a relationship, I never said I didn't like you...like that."

"Do you?"

"...I think I do."

"Then call me when you find out, Aubrey. I'll wait for it."

I walked out of her room, shutting the door behind me and walking out of the dorm blocks and towards the lake just outside of campus.

Aubrey's POV:

I picked up my phone and dialled Chloe's number, quiet tears rolling down my cheeks.

"Hey, Bree!"

"I-I think I made a mistake."

She stayed quiet for a moment. I shut my eyes and silent tears streamed down my cheeks and landed on my chest as I slumped to the ground and tucked my knees up. "What kind of mistake?"

"I..I rejected Stacie."

I heard Beca muttering something and Chloe replying quietly. "Oh. Uh..Beca said she might kill you for breaking her friend's heart, but I'll try stop her." She said. I laughed softly before putting the phone down and hitting my head on the wall.

"I fucked up."
