"BECA!" Emily cried, running to her sister and practically sweeping her off her feet. Beca nodded and hugged her back as the two began to cry.
"I'm so sorry, Em, I was a complete jerk. I should've just talked to someone instead of doing what I did. It wasn't my finest moment..but I'm here now, and I'm safe. All thanks to Stacie." Beca smiled, nodding in my direction. Emily turned to me and gasped. "You kept your promise?"
"I told you I'd bring her back safe and sound. I kept my word." I replied. Emily put Beca back down and moved towards me, her arms flying around me and hugging me tightly. "Thank you." She whispered. I laughed softly and nodded. "Any time."
Beca looked slightly worried and kept checking her phone, hoping Chloe would message. "You two did fill her in on what happened, right?"
I shook my head and pulled away from Emily's grasp. "The last thing I wanted to do was get Chloe all upset. She'd have come to the bridge and begged you not to jump, which wouldn't have helped." I explained.
The brunette looked crestfallen, but forced a smile and nodded. "Okay."
"I'll take you to her dorm if you want? You two can have some down time and I'll take Bree out for drinks so we can discuss our situationship." I offered.
Beca nodded again. "Yes please."
"Okay, come on then."
------
"So, Aubrey, we..have some things we need to talk about. As much as I'd like to, we can't just shove our feelings in a corner and let them rot there." I muttered, taking a sip from my martini.
The blonde nodded in agreement and downed her first whiskey. "Yep. So..what are we? Like, do we have a title?"
"I don't even know."
"Well, we have to figure it out."
"We still have more things to talk about. Like, what did you say to Beca?"
"Oh. I said she was petty, childish and needed to get over her attachment issues."
"You were completely out of order in saying that."
"I-I realise that now. If I could take back what I said to her, I would."
"But you can't. You really hurt her, Aubrey. Seriously. Do you even know what she did?"
"....No."
I sighed and put my head in my hands. "Well. She got to a bridge, and had I been there any later, there would be no more Beca."
Aubrey gasped. "I-I almost made a girl kill herself? Holy shit." She stammered. I nodded and looked up. "Well, it wasn't entirely your fault. Beca had her issues before you ruined her life. But you certainly didn't help the situation."
She shook her head in disbelief. "I can't believe it. I'm a fucking monster. I-I almost drove Beca off a bridge. I almost killed Beca. Shit. I'm literally the worst human in existence, I-"
"Aubrey! I just said it isn't entirely you're fault! That wouldn't be possible. Bec wouldn't kill herself over some.....slightly true statements. She'd definitely be irritated, but nothing you can say would make her jump. You just accelerated the process, that's all."
"I still played a part in it!"
I rolled my eyes and sighed, frustrated with her. "Stop victimising yourself."
Aubrey was silent. I took another sip from my glass, tapping my nails on the table and waiting for her to apologise or something, but the apology never came.
"You know, Bree, I really do love you. I wish I could be your girlfriend, but I can't even be your friend anymore. Until you're over this bullshit, until you sort out your 'attachment issues' and stop being so fucking pathetic, we can't be anything." I snapped before downing the last of my martini and storming off, my heels making a slightly annoying click sound and my hands shaking. God, I didn't know I had it in me to snap at Aubrey like that..
------
I entered my own dorm to find Emily cuddled up with Cupcake on the floor, Beca and Chloe lay on Amy's bed together with their limbs intertwined, and Amy absolutely hammered on the couch. Em was sleeping, as were Beca and Chloe. However, Amy didn't even look like she was able to stand up.
"What the Hell is happening here?" I giggled. Amy looks at me, practically barfing from just moving her eyes. "Well..Em buyed alcohol. So w-we all had a bit. *hic* And then we had a b-*hic* bit more. And they all pass out. So....I d-drank it all. *hic*" She tried to explain.
"Oh, okay..you bought more alcohol instead of going through our stash of bottles under the couch?" I asked. "Yep. Didn't wanna disturb your unhealthy collection." Beca smiled as she woke up.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed myself one of my own bottles. "I'm not an alcoholic."
"So, non-alcoholics can drink whenever things go wrong and they're still classed as non-alcoholics?" Beca said.
I almost spat out my drink. "Bec, nothing even went wrong!" I cried, laughing nervously. "Clearly. Let me guess....Aubrey was being a dick?"
"M-Maybe.."
"No change there, then." Beca sighed. "You need to get over her."
"That's my plan, genius. I will."
