Unexpected Love in the Aquarium

Chapter 8

As soon as he's asked to be picked Sonic up, not caring for how heavy he was. He got into the water himself, using the steps to slowly lower them in. Shadow holds him until he's fully conscious, worried for him. "It's alright Sonic, it will be okay. You can rest now." He says softly, not giving a damn that his clothes are wet. Sonic sniffles and lays his head on his shoulder, he keeps shaking but he calms down when he was held by Shadow, he wishes that he could be held by him at all times but he doesn't want to drown Shadow. "Shadow? Can I ask you a favor?" He said with a weak voice not looking at him yet, wanting to just be held until he felt better.

He also worried about Chip, what are they doing to him? Hopefully nothing too serious. He nuzzles his shoulder and calms down, his eyes start to droop because he is calming down a lot. Shadow kept him low enough in the water that Sonic's tail was completely under, having to stay on the steps so he didn't fall in though. He looked down at Sonic when he spoke, giving a nod. "Sure, what do you need?" Shadow was willing to help as much as he could, the merhog didn't deserve this.

Sonic sighed and said, "Please check on Chip and ask Tails to make me something for me to be a normal hedgehog. Only for," He yawns but tries to stay awake for a little while. "a day or something? Just want to know what it's like to be like you, Shadow... want to explore the outside without having my scales dry out, to make more friends...." He requested finally looking at him with his eyes drooping from tiredness. Shadow nodded as he would go do that, he just didn't know if that was possible for him to have legs. Still, he'd talk to Tails and see what they could do, petting his ear lightly he waited until Sonic was ready to let go. "I'll see what I can do, give me a bit of time okay?"

Sonic nodded and let go, wanting to sleep for the rest of the day, "Okay, thank you again...I'll see you soon." He said, smiling slightly he paused for a minute and went back to him and kissed his cheek as a thank you. "See you." He said going down in the water and lying down on his bed the fall asleep. Shadow lets him go, giving a small smile. He blushed lightly as his cheek was kissed, watching Sonic go down in the water. He went to check on Chip, the goldfish mix was fine and even let Shadow carry him as he brought him back to the tank. Once the mix was safe he went to find Tails and talk about the possibility of giving Sonic legs.
