Unexpected Love in the Aquarium

Chapter 11

In the morning Chip shook Sonic awake. "Sonic! Sonic! They added koi fish in the tank!" He said excitedly. Sonic was woken up by Chip saying that, "huh? Koi fish? I haven't seen them in a very long time. " He said getting up and stretching, "When did they put them here?" He wonders, swimming up to the top, looking for whoever put them there. Chip's ears went back, giving a growl. The person was already gone. "It was the nasty Jackel, I splashed him until he left but he put the koi in." He explained, looking at the top before spinning playfully. 

Sonic held a growl for not scaring the koi fish away, "That damn Infinite, dropping them like they're nothing. He doesn't know how to take good care of any type of creatures...." Sonic sighed and went back down, waiting for food. He's kinda hungry after last night. "Hey, Chip, what would you think of me having mobain legs?" He asked, swimming with the koi fish. Chip looked baffled by the question, more of thinking it wasn't possible. "Legs would be cool! If I could breathe air I could fly around with you! Where would you go with legs?" He seemed excited about the thought, flipping around.

Sonic chuckled at Chip's excitement and sat down on his bed, "Well, I want to go with Shadow, see what he sees on a daily basis, but now I think about...I should ask Tails if he can help you out with that as well." He said, looking straight at the glass in front of him. Chip paused his flips to look at Sonic, hesitant to say what he wanted to. "I'm not so sure I'd actually want to do that if it was possible...sure the fantasy is nice but doing it for real would be scary!" He voiced his concern.

Sonic hugged Chip and nuzzled his head, "Calm down bud, I'm here for ya. I'll protect you no matter what if it does happen to ya?" He started to tickle him to make him feel better. Chip smiled slightly and started laughing when he was tickled, lightly slapping at Sonic's hands. "Alright! Okay!" He giggles and pushes out of Sonic's tickles, doing a few backflips away and swirling around. Sonic laughs and shakes his head and swims to the top to sit on the edge of the ledge looking at the blue sky out the window, "wish I was out there under the blue sky...I feel kinda trapped..." He said, sighing. All he wants is to experience it for only a day and maybe spend time with Shadow more, there is something inside of him that attracts him.

Chip frowned slightly as Sonic said he felt trapped, the goldfish mix himself didn't feel that way really. Even if he was trapped in the water it was still water to him. "I'm sorry. I bet you'll get out though! That fox person and the dark hedgehog seem like nice people!" He gave a smile to try and reassure him. Sonic looks at Chip and heads to him then hugs him, "Sorry if I offended you Chip, but would you like to be somewhere else than here?" Sonic asked, waving at the people that are coming in to see them. He wondering where Shadow is and if he's working or not.

Chip smiled with the shake of his head. "Don't worry about it and I don't mind being here I'll keep watch while you're gone when you get legs." He gave a determined look, going over to the glass to play with the kids. Shadow had been a little late today, he stayed up doing research and things but thankfully he wasn't told off by Infinite. He slipped on his work clothes in the locker room and went to get breakfast for Sonic, he'd need to apologize for being late. Sonic smiled at Chip and patted his head, "Thank you, you're the best Chip, if I didn't meet you, then none of this happiness would be possible. Having you as a friend is more than enough, plus, I'll get you all of the chocolate chips there is when I do." 

He said, going to the glass that has a hole where he can put his arms through and patting the children's head, receiving the happy giggles. Chip blushed happily at the praise, doing a few flips in excitement. "Aww Thank you! You're so cool Sonic!" The goldfish mix chased one of the koi playfully. Then there was a knock from the top, Shadow stood up there with a tray of breakfast. Sonic stopped and swam to the top when he heard it, his eyes shine bright when he saw Shadow waiting for him. "Shadow! You're here!" He said with excitement, going to the edge and sat on it. Happy to see him.

Shadow pulled up his pants and took off his shoes so he could sit at the edge with Sonic and his feet could go in the water, giving the tray to Sonic. "Hey sorry I'm late, slept past my alarm" He smiled lightly. a bit embarrassed. Sonic laughed a bit but nodded, eating his breakfast "It's alright, I did that too once, was not a happy fish hehe, but thank you for breakfast." he said, kissed his cheek, and continued eating. "mmm!~ So fresh!~" Shadow tilts his head slightly, merhogs woke to alarms? That was new info for him. Still, he took the tray when Sonic was done, getting up from the edge. "I have some other stuff to do but I'll come to check on you later at lunch okay?" 

Sonic nodded and went down into the water then went down into the water then laid down on his bed just chilling, waiting for lunch, waving at the people but frown when seeing Infinite and look away.
