We're Alright...

"Pwede bang akin ka na lang..."

A prayer...
A plea...
A bargain...

Then I felt a tear fell from my eyes, as I turned around and walked away...

———
I was at their front gate even before the sun shows its face.
I'm not sure what time Miguel normally comes to pick her up, but I'm quite certain I won't allow yesterday to happen again.
I was up until midnight, thinking and rethinking what I should do with her, but regardless of which direction of thoughts I would go, I only have one answer- I want her.... And I guess, that's all the answer that I need.

Thirty minutes... an hour has passed, and I am still here.

She has a 7am class...
I was looking at their house, when Caloy stopped by beside me, probably wondering what I was doing here this early.
He's eyeing me from head to toe, as if gauging if he can take me on.
He sure knows he can't.

"Mali ata ng gising natin, Tsong"

I looked at him and smirked. I was about to answer him, when their gate opened and I immediately turned to look. But it was the wrong housemate.

"Hindi ba mali yung GPS natin, Conrad? I'm quite certain this is the last place that you'd want to be today"

"Pagbuhulin ko kaya kayong dalawa... where's Liza?"

Issa looked at me with raised eyebrows, then she looked at Caloy.

"Asan si Liza?", and when I didn't hear anything from her again, thinking that she's trying to hide her best friend from me, I tried to pull her aside, ready to charge towards their apartment.

She stepped aside, then shaking her head, she said, "She's not here"

"Tang*na! Where does Miguel live?", I said, as I was walking towards my bike.

"Kalma, Pre!"

"Alam mo, kung andito si Liza, bingo ka na talaga sa kanya ng sobra sobra"

I took a deep breath, my hands on my waist, then I looked at Issa. "I'll ask you one more time. Where is Liza?"

She met my gaze, then she laughed and shook her head. "Tito Edward fetched her yesterday. Something like it's her half brother's birthday so they'll go out of town... "

"Out of town for how long!?"

"Malay... I didn't ask anymore. She was not in the mood last night... she went out for a while then when she came back, she's crying... then after thirty minutes or so, she's all dressed up and she just said she needs to leave because her Dad is outside"

She was crying...
I made her cry again....
Parang in four days na we know each other, I did nothing but made her cry.

I started my bike, then looked at Issa.

"Can you let me know once she's back?"

"Why would I? Friends ba tayo?"

"Please..."

"Conrad, Liza is not the same as any of those girls that you're used to.... "

"Do you think I don't know that?"

"Well... if I'll use the last few days that you're together as indicator ... I'd say you didn't know"

"Issa... "

"Word of advice... leave her alone if you're not even sure what you're plans with her are... she doesn't deserve...."

She stopped what she's about to say, as if she got lost in her own thoughts.
