Scarlett's Conviction

Four days went by in a flash, it felt so long but Atlas reassured me that I was ready. The morning of the Competition when I woke up John and Caelum had already left, but Sabrina was waiting for me "Hey." was all I said before sitting down beside her in the living room. "Are you really going to do this. What if-" "Nothing is going to happen, and if it does I want you to keep this close." I said pulling a purple stone from my pocket and handing it to her, "This is a shard of crystal from deep in the ColourKorian mines I bought it for you to keep." Sabrina held the stone in her hands before pulling me into a hug. After a while I stood up and walked to the door, "I love you Sabrina, Forever and never forget it." I said before closing the door.

*Third Person POV*

Scarlett stood at the front door of her house, hearing the soft sobs of her sister through the door. Scarlett met Atlas in the regular meeting spot watching at Cadet after Cadet entered the gates, Generals, military leaders, and then she saw. 'Shoot! It's my parents.'  She thought, seeing her mother, father and seeing Aria. Atlas remained silent and put his hand onto her shoulder, Scarlett calming her nerves before she walked over to the river just behind staring at my reflection, I tied my hair up into a tight bun, while Atlas gathered some flowers and herbs around us.

"What are those for?" She asked, watching as he ground the herbs into a paste, "These will change your voice, but you can't clear your throat or your voice will return back to normal." He said giving me a small ball of the paste. It was bitter and sour, it felt like it was stuck to my throat "Does this really work... What the hell." Scarlett said as her voice changed to a dark rasp. "Scary what a few flowers and herbs can do." Scarlett simply nodded and disappeared to get changed and when she came out, Atlas gasped "If I wasn't onboard with this plan I wouldn't even know the difference." Scarlett chuckled as he chucked a small Identity card at her, "That will get you into the competition grounds I signed you up early this week." Atlas said before slowly fading away, "Good luck Scarlett." I have got this but I could lose it all at the same time, Sabrina, John, Ashley, Aria, andHunter.

ColourKore is one of the biggest Kingdoms in the south, it has extreme military power which comes from the three bases that surround the outer borders, but despite it's strength all the other Kingdoms refuse to accept ColourKore as a Kingdom. Just beyond the village and the market is a vast open field with a giant coliseum in the middle, inside there are rows upon rows a seats filled with people, all the way at the top Amelia and the other council members sit and just below them is Caelum, Ryan the General of Base One, Eugene the General of Base Two, and sitting beside the is Caleb the oldest son of Kaydwyn The General of Base Two.

'I can't imagine what it must like to be Caleb right now, your father considered to be dead, your mother taken prisoner, and having to fill his father's place.' Scarlett thought, scanning her eyes at the numerous people in the crowd of examinees, "Woah is that Caleb-" "No way!" "He's 18, he's just a boy." numerous people are whispering about the appearances of the many different military leaders. Scarlett stops and joins the assigned team she was assigned to, 'Oh no. no. no why did it get stuck in John's group he will find me out for sure.' Scarlett's thoughts run her head like wildfire taking a deep breath in, a loud gong rings through making people around Scarlet jump in surprise.' and just like that you have already been deducted points that will be crucial for your survival.'  Scarlett knew that in order for her for ColourKore to listen she needs to have a flawless victory.

Amelia stands from her place using a small bit of her magic appears on the stage at the front of what will become a battlefield, "I welcome you all to ColourKore, today is the day that you get to prove your worth to this Kingdom. There is a threat coming to the Continent and we will be there to defend and serve the crown. Good luck and by the law of battle, if blood is drawn you will be disqualified immediately." She speaks out scaring more of the Examinees, looking around I see Sabrina and Ashley in the crowds of people, and above them are my parents.
