[Back At Koka Town...]

Victoria walked the backstreets of Koka, kicking a small loose stone that had found itself in her way, and as it tumbled across the old worn stone-brick road she couldn't help but think back to the strange swordsman from earlier. Where had he come from, and had he only helped her by coincidence, his main target was the bandits harassing her? That made more sense, what an idiot she had been to assume the opposite, people around her never changed. Not one nice person...

However, she had far more pressing concerns ahead of her, and so did the entirety of Koka Town, which was surely about to befall a terrible fate. That stranger's actions would certainly elicit a reaction from the Baron, and when that reaction came it wasn't going to be good. Fire and smoke, bodies and death, like how it had been before the Mayor struck his deal...

Yet, was this always the inevitable outcome? Sooner or later they would've ran out of sacrifices, ran out of young girls and women to send him. Who would've been next, young boys, older women, older men? By that point there wouldn't have even been Koka Town left.

When the Baron did come down upon them Victoria was bound to be long gone, she wasn't staying around, but there were a couple of people she needed to bring along with her, two idiots who happened to be her good friends. After a while she came to a dead-end, and a large dilapidated building sat before her, the windows boarded up and sealed shut with iron bars. A few rowdy teens guarded the place, and gave her small nods of respect, allowing her to go through unimpeded. On all sides it was surrounded by a junkyard, where the entirety of Koka Town left their unwanted goods. There was a little bit of everything, from simple trash, to damaged goods from distant shores, and a surplus of unused building materials. It meant to her, she knew the secret way in and out, and like a nimble feline she snuck through a small crack and reappeared on the insides.

Home sweet home, or at least, as close to home as one could get. The large space was hard and cold, with grey walls and ceilings. However, there were all sorts of mechanical works on displays, tools dotted about and left haphazardly, wrenches and screwdrivers and blowtorches. Many machines had been torn apart and turned to pure scrap, reused for new inventions, firearms made from pipe and loose metal. Marvelling at all the engineering was why she was there though, the real question was, where were the two boys she was after...

"Kid?! Killer?! Get out here already! We've got to leave!" Victoria called out, and at first she believed herself to simply be shouting to herself. "Vickie, what're you hell are talkin' bout?! Why would we leave?" A grouchy voice roared barked back at her, appearing from an adjacent hallway that stretched on further back, his fiery red hair recognisable from a mile away, his goggles catching against rays sunbeams that crept through the barricaded windows. "Kid, we've got a problem. The Baron, he's going to raze the city!" He stomped towards her, his long coat swaying with every step, all the golden ornaments clinking and clanking.

Kid furrowed his brow, evidently he wasn't in the best of moods. "Yeah, well duh, Vickie. He's gone and done both Heat and Wire! We're already down half our men! Try and keep up next time!" He let out a frustrated groan, and he marched past while shaking his head...
