Sorry for the shortness work!prom! All that jazz
We stood before a large medieval castle. The stonewalls were
covered with thick green vines that crept up to the roof. The old grey walls
that surrounded the entrance were beginning to crack from old age. I stared at
the old crimson colored roof that adorned the castle towers. Stain glass windows
were a jaded yellow and blue caked with age-old dust. The trees surrounded the
castle barely letting in the light of the moon. "The scent of decay is still
strong here." My mother whispered almost to herself. She strode forward
breaking through the covers of the trees, Brian right on her heels. He towered
over my mother's slim frame easily, his black hair shining silver in the moon
light. Charity and I walked behind them both. "My sister, have you gotten over
her?" "What makes you say that?"I whispered. "Last month you were a complete
wreck, this month it's like she never died." I clenched my teeth before looking
at him. "Are you implying that I am over her? I am just trying..." I made my
voice crack "To cope with it. I promised I would see this through to the end,
and I will." "What are you going to do later, after all of this?" "I am not
sure."I whispered. "I will follow her in death." "Your mother and your ex
subjects would not like that." "It is
not for them to decide." "Death is not something that should be discussed
here." My mother whispered. I watched her hand tighten around Brian's shirt.
"Do you not smell it? The decay, the dust of vampire remains. The scent is
almost maddening, yet you continue to ignore it as if it is not there."
"Elizabeth, please-" "They speak as if they do not comprehend what is going on.
Quickly enter the gate while the moon is high." We came upon a large wrought
iron gate. Even in age the gate was
looming and threatening it towered over us by many feet. My mother went first
jumping over the gate with ease, Brian followed. My feet hit the ground with an
audible thud. "Careful." She whispered. She stood deathly still her hair
blowing fiercely in the wind. Her skin glowed an ominous white as the wind
began to pick up around us. Leaves whipped wildly through the air as sand began
to blow in all directions. "What the hell?" Charity whispered. I squinted
seeing glowing red eyes appear in the sands.
A low growl shook the ground. "So it's still here." My mother whispered.
I stared at her mystified was this woman truly my mother. The woman that was the
image of pure royalty, I had to question her for a moment. She stood her legs
firmly apart with her hands on her hips. I watched her eyes glow a lovely
crimson. The strength that radiated from her was impossible to doubt. I had
never seen this woman before. "Elizabeth where is Esmerelda?" The creature
