Chapter 5: [ Can't Win x But x Can't Loose ]
Because of the events of Leorio's round, the 5 of them ended up having to sacrifice fifty hours. Fortunately, with Killua's win they had gained a total of four victories which was just what they needed to pass.
"Great, we have to stay in this room and only after 50 hours is done can we continue." Leorio sighed and placed his briefcase on the couch. The door abruptly shut behind them once they entered. The five of them took off our shoes, placing them next to one another beside the door. Sora took a seat next to Kurapika. The first few hours were alright for Sora. It mostly consisted of Gon and Killua playing together, Leorio laying on one of the sofas, Kurapika reading a book, and Sora reading one of the books on Kurapika's stack. Eventually everyone agreed to go to sleep. The others got knocked out pretty easily (not my insomnia ass going to bed at 10 and officially sleeping at 2 in the morning) while Sora stayed up. She sat facing the wall, bringing her knees close to her chest as the hood of her cloak was still up.
"Hm? Sora? You're still awake?" Kurapika rubbed his eyes.
Sora hummed.
"Do you sleep with the blindfold on?" He suddenly asked.
"No, I sleep with it off...but people are here..." Sora muttered.
"Why do you wear a blindfold?"
The Gojo sighed. "I wear my blindfold because like your eyes, they are...special..."
"Can I see them?"
"...I know you aren't a bounty hunter...so as a fellow person whose eyes are trying to be hunted...I guess I'll show them to you." She faced Kurapika, her back to the others as she reached to untie the knot. As soon as she took off the blindfold, her face felt cold. Slowly Sora blinked her eyes fully opening them.
She heard Kurapika softly gasp. "They're beautiful...it almost reminds me of the myth..." Kurapika couldn't describe Sora's eyes at all. It was as if he was staring into the vast ocean filled with limitless possibilities.
"These are part of the reasons why I wear a blindfold..." Sora reverted her eyes to the floor.
Shuffling was heard from the other side of the room as Sora quickly tied her blindfold around her eyes.
"Can't sleep?" Kurapika asked Killua.
"Not really. I can go on for a few days without sleeping." Killua stared at the ceiling. Killua grabbed his pillow and threw it at Gon. However, the boy pretended to be asleep, and threw the pillow back without opening his eyes. Killua was a bit shocked, but his face slowly morphed into that of amusement. The pillow flew back over to Gon, only to be returned back again. They slowly stood up, and the pillow fight was commenced.
----------
The five of them had barely made it out in time, it was a miracle that they managed to succeed in completing the pillar within the time limit.
'Good thing we had Gon. Without him we would've left 2 behind...'
All the participants boarded onto a boat that was heading to the Fourth Phase's site, Zevil Island. The three of them, Sora, Gon, and Killua all sat on the ground of the boat, backs leaned against its boarded structure. Once seated, Killua asked the both the girl and the boy the numbers they have drawn from the lot.
"How about you guys?" Gon asked completely avoiding the question.
"It's a secret." Sora and Killua both said in sync. Killua rested his head on the palm of his hand and Gon stared up at the bright sky. They both stood in silence before saying, "Secrets." This time their faces conveyed both merriment and jollity as Sora sweatdropped.
