They had been walking for quite a long time, when they soon came up to a large gate.

“Oh no,” Snag wailed.  “A roadblock!  A barrier, even!”  Now what do we do?  What do we do?”

“I got a feeling there’s something really important waiting for us beyond this gate,” Huck said.  “So I think we better go on through!” Then he tried to open the gate, but to no avail.  “Hrrmph!” he grunted.  “Boy, this here gate’s locked up tight!  Anyone know where we might find a key?

“Wait,” Viola said.  “This gate looks familiar.

“Yeah,” Bugle added.  “I think I know where it goes, but…”

“But what?” Huck asked.

“I think you should look…”

Bugle paused as the floor suddenly opened to reveal a trap door, and everyone fell through.

“DOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWN!!!!”

The gang suddenly found themselves sliding swiftly down a huge stone slide!

“WHEEEEEEEEEE!!!!” Huck squealed, throwing his arms up in the air.

“Well, this is fun!” Viola shouted.

“Yeah!  A real sweet ride!” Tempo added.

Of course, the only one who was not enjoying themselves was Snagglepuss, who was terrified. He screamed and whimpered, his body shivering and his fur fanned out.

“Let me off!!!  LET ME OFF!!!!!!!!” he wailed. “WHERE’S THE GROUND WHEN YOU NEED IT!?!?”

They soon reached the bottom as they landed on a huge daisy. Huck laughed with joy, while the others panted and groaned  from all the squealing and shouting they had done.

“That was fun!” Huck giggled. “Let’s do it again!”

“AGAIN!?” Snag cried. Then he moaned and held his forehead just before he fainted onto the ground, flat on his back. “Never again….”

Aria gazed down at him for a second, then gently helped him to his feet and gave him a pat on the back.  “It’s okay, Snagglepuss.  You’ll be alright.”

“Oooh, tell that to my brain.  It’s still spinning in circles…whirling, even…”  The mountain lion finally came to his senses after a moment, then shook his head and blinked as he looked up.  “Say, where are we anyhow?”

Huck looked quite dismayed as he stared out at their surroundings.  “I dunno, but it sure looks kinda sad.”

The gang was standing at the edge of an enormous cobblestone path that branched off into several more small paths, all surrounded by beds of flowers and other beautiful plant-life…except that none of it had any color.  In fact, the entire area around them was devoid of color, only drab shades of gray and white.

In the distance, they could see a gigantic fountain, but there was no water flowing from it.  Beyond that, they could see what looked like an enormous bandshell, with benches spread out in neat rows in front of it.

“Wait, I think I know where we are,” Bugle said.  “This is the Mystical Garden of Tone!

“It sure looks like it,” Viola observed.  “But…where’s all the color gone?”

Huck scratched his head.  “Search me.  It looks like we done walked into one’a those old black and white movies.”

“Well, at least we’ll be somewhat safe here,” Aria said.
