Haley's POV

I gasped sharply at the unexpected sensation from my sacred area, feeling my eyebrow twitch as I shot a glare at Alex, who was currently going down on me.

"You really know how to ruin the mood, don't you?" I commented with annoyance, pushing him back with my feet. "Seriously, how can you be so bad at this?" I retorted, attempting to fix my hair that was now tousled in every direction. God, he was terrible at pleasuring someone.

"Damn, why are you being so whiny?" He barked back. I menacingly stared down at him, picked up his clothes, and threw them at him. "Get the fuck out of my room, out of this house," I coldly stated. His expression initially showed annoyance but then shifted to resignation.

"Whatever, fuck!" He cussed as he quickly put his clothes back on, leaving my room with a loud snap of the door. I rolled my eyes at his childish antics.

I quickly fixed my appearance before stepping outside of my room, ensuring I looked presentable. Despite my frustration, I wanted to look my best as I ventured out. I decided to visit the beach to clear my mind after dealing with someone who couldn't even fulfill their one job properly. It baffled me how someone with the title of the town's finest boy could be so incompetent.

Arriving at the beach, I was greeted by a familiar sight. The warm sun painted the sky in a palette of orange and pink, casting a golden glow over the sand and sea. Footprints from earlier beachgoers were scattered like memories, tracing paths that led both toward the waves and back to the safety of the shore. The ocean stretched out before me, a vast expanse of shimmering blue meeting the sky in a seamless horizon. Waves rolled gently towards the beach, their rhythmic sounds creating a soothing melody that lulled me into a sense of tranquility. Truly, the ocean never fails to impress.

I chose to settle on a rock near the shore, taking in the soothing sounds and breathtaking beauty of the ocean. However, something suddenly caught my attention

A familiar figure approached not too far from me, carrying a basket in one hand and a fishing rod resting on her shoulder. The straw hat obscured her face, making it difficult to discern her identity, but I had a hunch about who it might be.

She dropped the basket on the sand, revealing its contents filled with fishes, which was ew, by the way. I furrowed my eyebrows as I finally caught a glimpse of the person-it was that farmer girl.

She was clad in a white blouse paired with brown pants, accentuated by a belt cinched around her waist. The color palette of her outfit was earthy and harmonious, featuring shades of white, brown, and darkish brown. Despite my reluctance to admit it, the ensemble suited her surprisingly well, even though I had previously thought her fashion taste was lacking.

I observed as she removed her hat, revealing her shoulder-length raven hair that had a slight wave to it, albeit looking a bit dry. However, what truly caught my attention were her eyes-they were silver, a striking feature that left a strong impression on me. It was the first time I had encountered someone with silver eyes; it almost gave her an otherworldly appearance, like a vampire or something similar. She was also remarkably pale, which added to the intriguing aura surrounding her.

"Huh? Haley?" She called out, her voice carrying a blend of curiosity and coldness, with a slightly deep tone. Her furrowed eyebrows hinted at some inner thoughts or concerns.

I flicked my hair, realizing I might have been staring for too long. I reassured myself that I was merely examining her appearance; after all, I hadn't paid much attention to how she looked before. It could have been the darkness of the night or my half-asleep state the next day that initially masked my perception.

"Farmer girl, was it?" I replied dismissively, showing little interest in engaging in conversation with her.

She didn't say a word, simply staring at me before gathering her belongings. It felt rather rude, but then again, was I the one being rude?

"I'm surprised you're not with your boyfriend," she finally commented, a remark that stirred memories of someone I'd rather not think about; I still harbored a strong dislike for him.

"My world doesn't revolve around him, farmer girl," I shot back, tilting my head slightly and giving her a firm stare, asserting my independence.

I observed as she shrugged her shoulders. "Just saying, you look rather obsessed with him," she replied, her voice carrying a hint of mockery-or perhaps I was just imagining it? It certainly felt like she was making fun of me.

"Obsessed? Me? Are you trying to mock me or something?" I retorted firmly, conveying my irritation at her presumptions. She had certainly managed to disrupt my peace.

"Look, blondie, it was just my opinion, but I'm glad you aren't that type of woman," she said dismissively before walking away. Her departure left me feeling rudely dismissed.

time skip. | Athena's POV

Back at my farm at last, I finished sorting through my loot for the day. The encounter with Emily's sister was truly unexpected; I hadn't anticipated having a conversation with her that turned sour. However, I couldn't bring myself to dwell on it. I was too exhausted to argue with anyone at the moment, hence I'm gonna have to go visit the mines to collect some coals from random mining carts later.
