It had been just a day after Eggman's horrid attack on the city. But of course he was no match for Sonic and Kid Genius! Once again the city was saved and no harm was done to anyone!
Well, all expect the ego of the President and the President assistant....
"This is GREAT news, Mr. President. And it couldn't have come at a better time!" Jerome, the Presidents assistant spoke out of joy. Holding up the city newspaper. Showing on the front page was Eggmans base that was destroyed.
"Now, you're sure to be re-elected!"
"-I don't know about that ...I'm not the REAL hero of the story, look closer." The President ex hails sadly, pointing at Jerome's other newspaper in hand. The man looks down and gasp in shock. As all it kept showing was pictures and headlines of Sonic and Y/N making multiple covers on the news.
Jerome getting furious from the amount of credit they were getting in the city. Even though they were the ones who saved the city. Grabbing the remote and turning on the Presidents TV, as it showed countless clips and scenes of Sonic and Kid Genius. Making him scream out in frustration. Gripping the hair on his head.
"If we don't act fast, sir, they'll elect Sonic President! Or worse! Y/N will be the new Kid President!...and you know how much people love kids ..." Jerome yells out dramatically.
The president rubs his temples on his face. "I'll have to find myself a real job..." This making Jerome growl in anger. Stomping over to his desk and slamming his hands down onto it. "WE'VE GOT TO DO SOMETHING RIGHT AWAY!!"
"Now, now, let's not overreact about this, just stay calm." Mr. President holds his hand up, watching Jerome now walk back and forth trying to come up with a full proof solution for their little conundrum.
Before a lightbulb goes off in his head. Slamming his fist into the palm of his hand. "Ah, that's it, I know!" Says the president assistant. Making Mr. President hum in response. Jerome throws his hands out, grinning ear to ear.
"It's a brilliant idea! We'll host a black-tie charity ball in celebration of our victory!"
"-Yes, but what does a victory celebration do to solve our Sonic and Kid Genius problem?" Question the old man.
"-we are going to make Sonic the guest of honor! Will invite the media, get in a couple of photo-ops, that kind of thing! It'll be in all the papers. All over the cable news talk show. The president, Kid Genius and Sonic! The dynamic Trio battling together against the forces of oppression! Once the voters see that you and those two kids are buddies- your approval ratings will go through the roof!! There's no way you can lose! Your re-election will be a sure thing."
The president blinks at this. But kept his mouth shut as Jerome kept on talking. "I'll have the staff get started. Will make sure all the television reporters get personal invitations to the free buffet tent!" And with that, he leaves out the office. Leaving the president alone.
