Kad burst open the door to Jaya's room in the palace. There was no trace of her, except a few clothes she had left behind.
"Dang it, dang it, dang it!" He yelled, tossing a desk across the room. He walked over to the desk, noticing a piece of fabric sticking out of a panel. He ripped the panel off and grabbed the hidden cloth. As he read what was written on the red-stained cloth he staggered back and slammed into the wall.
"Dank farrick. We're screwed," said Kad as he folded up the cloth and shoved it into his belt. He walked to Atin's room and knocked on the door. It swished open, and Kad walked in.
"What's up, Kad? And did I hear turbolasers firing outside a few minutes ago?" Atin asked.
"The Corellian Mark has come. They have the aid of the Empire. They're here for me," Kad said as he handed Atin the folded cloth. Atin unfolded it and read aloud.
"'To any living Fetts and members of Mandalorian Clan Nehutyc, your stronghold on Mandalore has been destroyed. Your friends barely escaped alive. Boba's palace is next. Be forewarned; you will suffer for your alliance with the Rebellion. Regards, Drak Corson and Galli Rax.' What on earth? Kad, how did they know we were at Boba's palace, and how did they find our stronghold?"
"Jaya blew the whistle on us. She was part of the Corellian Mark this whole time, and we're going to suffer for our trusting her," Kad said as he twirled his vibroblade knife between his fingers. One of the mods shoved open the door, panting.
"What is it?!" Kad exclaimed as the mod staggered in.
"Sorry to bother your friendly chit-chat, but we have a problem," the mod said.
"We know!" Kad and Atin chorused angrily.
"You don't understand. Within the past four minutes, over a thousand stormtroopers have been deployed to our yard, and about a hundred Death Troopers. They've pulled all stops to get us killed! We don't stand a bloody chance!" He exclaimed as he folded his hands nervously. Kad laughed and ran to the palace hangar. He ran up the ramp of the Mirshko and slid into the pilot's seat.
"Darra, could you- oh. Kay-cee, wake up and get up here, you crazy droid," Kad said as he powered up the VCX-100 freighter. Kay-cee staggered into the cockpit with an enthusiastic "roger r-r-roger!" He slammed into the co-pilot's seat and put his robotic hands onto the steering stick.
"W-w-where is your girlfriend?" Kay-cee asked as Kad lifted the ship into the air.
"WHAT!?" Kad yelled, nearly losing control of the ship. The ship straightened back out and speedily ascended towards the Destroyer. "She isn't my girlfriend, you or'dinii! She's a good friend of mine... And I wish I knew where she was," said Kad. He powered up the proton cannons and began firing at the Destroyer. The next thing he knew, a hundred or more Tie Fighters were swarming around him.
"W-well! Aren't w-we in a fix!" Kay-cee exclaimed as Kad threaded the ship between the green lasers that were far too close for comfort.
"Kay-cee, shut your vocabulator and get to the dorsal rotary cannons!" Kad yelled as a Tie Fighter exploded in front of him. He saw an N-1 starfighter flash by and blow up another fighter. The ship intercom system crackled, and a voice came through.
"Di'kut of you to go and nearly get yourself killed like that, Kad," the Silver Mandalorian said over the PA.
Kad laughed and said, "Ner vod, lighten up, I make these decisions nearly every day, and I haven't died yet." He swung the ship hard to port as a Tie Bomber swung overhead and dropped a proton torpedo.
"Kay-cee, give me a shields report!" Kad yelled as he swung to starboard. Two fighters collided as they swept past the freighter.
"Roger r-r-roger sir," Kay-cee's voice stammered through the comms. There was a pause. The droid popped its head into the cockpit and laughed. "Ha. Ha. Ha. Our shields are down to 30 per-c-c-cent! T-t-this mistake will cost us b-both!" His head popped back out of the room and into the dorsal cannon pit. Kad glanced at his dashboard and checked the readings.
"Dank farrick! Our shields are failing fast!" He yelled as he pulled the ship hard towards the atmosphere. He slammed his hand on a red button, and the shields slowly stabilized, but the ship itself slowed down. The ship rocked as a pair of proton torpedoes exploded just a few feet from the ship.
"This is Fleet Admiral Rayn Terra of the Imperial Star Destroyer ISD Preeminent," a voice blasted over the ship-wide PA. "Disengage your engines and prepare to be boarded." The PA had a burst of static and was cut as the ship was caught by the tractor beam. Kad flipped multiple switches and the growling of the engines dissipated, before silencing completely. He shoved a blaster into his side-holster and slid a micro-sized stun blaster under the sleeve of his flight suit. The ship shuddered as it was pulled into the docking bay of the Destroyer. The sealed doorway hissed as it opened, and a squad of red-armoured stormtroopers dashed into the hold. Kad gently rolled a smoke bomb into the room, and it exploded silently. As the stormtroopers gagged on the smoke, Kad crept behind them and ignited his lightsabre.
"What? W-who is there?" a terrified voice screamed. Kad's lightsabre flashed through the frightened trooper's chest and was quickly turned off. He ran in between two troopers and flicked his left wrist. Two whistling birds sped out of his gauntlet and pierced the helmets of their unsuspecting victims. One trooper began firing randomly into the cloud of smoke, and Kad stalked up behind him. He ripped the blaster out of his hand and slammed the butt of the blaster against the stormtrooper's helmet.
"Wait!" the leader of the squad screamed as Kad stalked him. The stormtrooper backed into a wall and was planted against it as Kad kept coming. He screamed as the lightsabre ignited and plunged deep into his chest. His body went limp and tumbled to the floor as Kad disabled his lightsabre and clipped it back to his belt.
Kad whistled as he walked to the bay door and slipped through. Lights flickered in the hallway of the Star Destroyer, and a klaxon was sounding somewhere in the distance. He ducked into a side hall as another squad of red-armoured stormtroopers ran past. He glanced around the hall and spotted his target. Good, there's a ventilator shaft here. Best way to sneak around a Star Destroyer, Kad thought to himself. With a snap-hiss, his lightsabre ignited, and he began sawing at the grating. A few moments later, he lifted the red-hot bars out of the hole and jumped into the ventilation shaft.
"This way," a stormtrooper's voice called out. Footsteps resounded through the hallway, coming towards Kad.
"Hey bucket-heads, take a whiff of this," Kad yelled as he pulled a stink bomb out of his pouch and tossed it into the hall. The stormtroopers coughed as the noxious fumes entered their respirators. Kad grinned and pulled the grating back over the hole and sealed it off as best he could.

As he crawled through the vent system, he heard a loud siren, and suddenly several lasers appeared around him. He laid down as close to the floor of the shaft as possible, moving carefully to avoid the lasers. His left hand slipped on the metal, and he screamed as he saw it momentarily writhing on the ground, separated from his arm. He bit his lip, slammed his other fist against the wall of the vent shaft, and continued on his way as the laser security system disengaged.
