Could I?

Lyney

"I don't want to remind you twice but you have to do the dishes" Lynette hissed at me

"No, I will not"

"Yes you will"

"Should I do it?" Lumine asks from the couch, on the verge of shouting 'Checkmate!' and provoking Freminent once more to burst into tears.

"Don't involved with those two..." Freminent whispers

"HEY, I HEAR YOU!"

"ME TOO!"

Lynette rolled her eyes and turned back to me. "Just do the dishes, Lyney. It's not that hard."

I groaned, knowing I had no choice but to give in. "Fine, I'll do it."

"CHECKMATE!"

Lumine let out a victorious laugh, while Freminent shook his head in shock. I rolled my eyes and got up to tackle the mountain of dirty dishes, I couldn't help but wonder how I always ended up in these situations.

LIKE ALWAYS. LYNETTE IS THE QUIET POSH GIRL BUT NOT QUIET AT THE SAME TIME.

It is like god decided to give her the cat ears and the power.

UGH!

Lynette echoed in my mind as I scrubbed away at the plates. She always had a way of getting me to do things I didn't want to do. Lumine's triumphant laughter still rang in the air, a constant reminder of her victory in their ongoing battles. Freminent, ever the peacekeeper, sighed and retreated into his world of quiet contemplation.

I sighed...I kept thinking of what was going on with Lumine. Destroyed house, assassins...she didn't even do anything...why is she getting this treatment? I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that lingered in the air. Lumine, with her carefree spirit and infectious laughter, didn't deserve the chaos that seemed to follow her wherever she went. The mystery of the destroyed house and the sudden appearance of assassins weighed heavily on my mind.

As I finished the last dish and wiped my hands clean, I glanced over at Lynette, who was now engrossed in a book, her cat ears twitching occasionally. Despite her calm demeanor, there was an underlying strength in her, a force to be reckoned with when necessary.

Lumine's laughter echoed in the room once more, a stark contrast to the tension that had filled the air moments ago. Freminent, lost in his thoughts, seemed to be the only one unaffected by the commotion around us.

I couldn't help but wonder what lay ahead for all of us. The quiet posh girl, the spirited troublemaker, the contemplative peacekeeper, and me, caught in the middle of it all. As I dried my hands, a resolve formed within me - to stand by my siblings and Lumine.

"You guys wanna do something together? And Lumine...how long are you gonna stay?"

She looked at me and then the floor..."I don't know how long. I informed my brother I might stay here today...He decided Heziou should take up this case and he might come to interrogate me tomorrow"

Lynette glanced up from her book, her expression unreadable. "I suppose we could do something together. And Lumine, you're welcome to stay as long as you need. We'll figure things out together."

Lumine's eyes lit up with gratitude, a hint of relief in her smile. "Thank you, Lynette. I appreciate it."

MY GIRL! And I was TALKING!

Freminent nodded in agreement, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "We're here for you, Lumine. Whatever you need, just let us know."

"We should plan something fun for today," I suggested, eager to shift the focus onto brighter moments ahead.
