Night had fallen by the time the ceremony was over and it was decided that spending the night in the village and leaving the next day would be for the best. Zorg was still in a daze, throughout the wait before the wedding he'd been nagged with feelings he couldn't quite explain. He chuckled to himself, a 'mere' human ceremony had him on his toes except he knew this meant so much more. There was a high chance it wouldn't work out but now with that part behind him, he could focus on the next. Winning her love.
"Excuse me, Zorg" a woman's voice pulled him out of his reverie and he looked up to find his wife's sister.
Wife. He puffed up his chest, sweet Elis was his wife now.
"Yes?" he stood as Sara approached him, she didn't regard him with as much suspicion as she initially did but it was still there and he was going to prove to her that she had nothing to worry about with him.
"I thought you might want to spend some alone time with Elis?" Sara smiled at him. "To talk at least "
Zorg blinked,"I can?"
"I assume so, if you don't want to..."
"I do, I want to talk with her"
Sara chuckled at his enthusiasm then pointed towards the door,
"You know her room?" She asked him.
"Yes, I do" Zorg began to make his way inside when she stopped him again.
"I trust you won't do anything she doesn't like or hurt her"
Zorg wanted to laugh at the absurdity of the question. Hurt her? Him? When he would show no mercy to those who did but he saw the look in her eyes and realized how important that question was.
"No, never"
"That's good to know, go on then"
Uram and the others who sat around drinking the mead they'd brought whooped as his went in, Zorg shoke his head at their behaviour continuing on only stopping just outside Elis's door, his initial confidence evaporating. He ran his hand over his hair making sure his braids were in place, then his shirt and when he was done he still couldn't bring himself to go in.
Curses. Why did he always become a flustered shy boy when it came to her.
"Get it together, Zorg" he muttered under his breath reaching out to the door but it swung open and Elis stood there staring up at him.
"Ah...Err," Zorg stuttered his mind going blank. He had learnt to speak faster than all his peers but now he found he couldn't seem to put together a coherent sentence.
I should probably go toss myself into a river. Pathetic.
How was he supposed to impress her if he couldn't even speak to her.
"Hello," Elis spoke first smiling up at him.
"Erm... Hello" Zorg mumbled his reply, ducking as heat flooded his face. Elis cocked her head to one side studying him. He was shy, she could tell since she'd spent most of her life being just that but now, the roles were reversed and new confidence surged into her.
