"Are you leaving me here all alone, mummy?" he asked, his voice tinged with uncertainty.
Alex's mother tearfully bid him farewell at the orphanage, her heart heavy with sorrow, Alex looked up at her with innocent confusion
"I'm sorry, Alex," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion as she struggled to contain her tears.
With one last agonized glance, she turned and walked away, leaving her son behind in a world of uncertainty.
For Alex, the days that followed were filled with longing and confusion. He waited eagerly for his mother to return, clinging to the hope that she would come back for him.
But as the years passed and she never came, his hope began to fade, replaced by a profound sense of abandonment.
Alone in the orphanage, Alex became a target for the other children's cruelty. They taunted him for his perceived weakness, throwing stones and hurling insults with reckless abandon.
But through it all, Alex clung to the belief that his mother would someday return to rescue him from his lonely existence.
And so he waited, yearning for the love and acceptance that had been so cruelly denied him.
But as time marched on and his mother's absence stretched into years, Alex's hope dwindled, replaced by a deep-seated sense of loneliness and despair.
As Alex sat alone on the park bench, his gaze wandered aimlessly across the sun-dappled landscape, his thoughts consumed by the ache of loneliness that gnawed at his heart.
But then, like a cruel twist of fate, he spotted her across the way—his mother, laughing and playing with another child and a man, her laughter floating on the breeze like a melody of happiness.
For the first time in ten years, tears welled up in Alex's eyes, his heart breaking at the sight of his mother's joy in the arms of another.
It was a visceral reminder of the love he had lost, the void that had been left in his life by her absence.
Lost in his sorrow, Alex didn't notice the chubby girl who approached him, her own tears mirroring his pain.
With a gentle touch, she offered him her kerchief, her eyes filled with empathy and understanding.
"Don't cry," she whispered softly, her voice a soothing balm to his wounded soul as she gently wiped away his tears.
But the simple act of kindness was too much for Alex to bear. The floodgates of his emotions burst open, and he collapsed into sobs, his heartache pouring out in waves of anguish and despair.
"ALEENA , COME LET'S GO HOME PRINCESS"
Aleena's father called out to her, signaling that it was time to go home, she reluctantly bid farewell to Alex, her newfound friend.
With a bittersweet smile, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a handful of chocolates, extending them to him with a gentle gesture.
"Here, Alex," she said softly, her voice filled with kindness. "Take these. They'll make you happy, I promise. And remember, don't cry. Even the angels will shed tears for you now."
With a final wave, Aleena turned and skipped away, leaving Alex alone once more. But as he watched her go, a sense of warmth washed over him, her words lingering in his mind like a comforting embrace.
