I am waiting for Danish to pick me up. Apparently, his grandparents arrived yesterday and wanted to meet me. So, we were invited to their house. Bhai, Di and Nuha are not here. They just left today to personally look after everything for the ceremony. Mother and Father were already at their place. I am not because, I was out for a meeting and arrived just an hour ago. We were invited for the dinner, my parents didn't find it right to delay and left without me. I hope his grandparents understand. Mother had prepared a dress and I just had to prepare myself. I was checking my phone when I heard the car. Taking a quick glance of myself, I walked out.
He was sitting in the car. I greeted him and took the passenger seat.
"So, how have you been?" I initiated an opening for conversation. He didn't take the bait and replied with a fine. I just nodded and let it be.
We reached his home and helped ourselves out.
Throughout the journey, I kept myself busy, trying to not notice too much of his presence. The way he looked stressed, his proper yet slightly messed up hair, one hand holding the steering wheel and another resting on the window. It was just too much to take at once. He looked more than just an attraction to eyes. He seemed to be the reason for the rush of blood I felt. Well he was.
"Do you think your grandparents would mind my late arrival?" I questioned looking at him. "Not sure, since I too am in the same situation" he replied with a smile. A smile! Danish Emraan smiled at me...
We both entered and greeted everyone. His grandparents were not there, but siblings, cousins, uncle and aunt and parents were. I asked about their well doing and they told us to meet his grandparents in their room. I followed him there. We look at each other before he knocks on the door.We greeted them. The couple were not too old. The lady was on the couch and the gentleman on the chair near it. Danish went and hugged both of them while I stood there waiting for them to complete their reunion. Apparently, Danish was also out of the city for a business meeting. "You brat, you could not even arrange your schedule properly. Could you?" Asked his grandmother. "And who do we have here?" asked his grandfather. I said with a smile "Ata Kashif". "Come here dear" his grandmother called me pointing next to her, indicating me to sit. "Oh! You look so beautiful dear." Said grandfather. I politely replied to them with a thank you. His grandparents were lovely. They caressed his head scolding him. And included me in conversations. His grandmother asked many questions, about my work, family, and interests. I was polite throughout the time. At last they said "Don't disturb us, old couple anymore" "Get going children."

We left grandparents room and walked towards the stairs. My grandparents are friendly to almost everyone. After leaving business in the hands of their children, they started exploring the world and eventually it turned them kind and generous. It's not like they weren't before, but business never taught us that much of it. They were strict and liked everything to be done their way, but now they are not that way. Always smiling and laughing.
The way they initiated conversation with Ata, showed how much they liked her way of things. The way she was kind and punctual with her words.
They were much happier that I agreed to this, as I have been avoiding marriage for a long time now. There were so many girls they liked, but I never had my interest.
But she did. Ata Kashif sparked my interest. Her way of dealing with things did.
We stood in front of the stairs. "I should freshen up." I said. She looked at me before nodding and taking the stairs. I walked to my room and did my stuff.
After almost 15 minutes I went downstairs and saw the elders discussing something. She was not with them. I walked towards the other end, where I don't usually sit. There she was, with my siblings and cousins, busy in conversation. "Bhai, you took ages to freshen up" Nadim said giving her a side eye. She looked everywhere else but in my direction. "What's going on?" I asked them, taking the seat opposite to her's. They were surely teasing her about something. "Am I dreaming or what?" Asks the dramatic Farhan. "I am not sure myself" replied Nadim. "Bhabhi, did you you see? he just initiated a conversation" Farhan says to Ata. She looked as confused as me but laughs after hearing his words. "Hey dumbo, she is obviously the reason for this" said evil Afreen. "Shut up" I said being annoyed. She looked at me controlling herself from being flustered. We just spend the time talking about random topics.During the dinner
We were eating in silence as always. Once again she sat opposite to me. There was a vacant seat next to me and Afreen but she opted for the seat next to Afreen's rather than mine. Did she not see the chair?
"Mother, Father, we were thinking of leaving on Sunday morning." Said Dad. Grandparents just nodded to it. "I was thinking about setting off on Saturday itself but, they have something to deal with and Ata's grandparents will also arrive here on Saturday." Mom said more like complained. I found Ata uncomfortable. Maybe because of the delay. "How about we let the kids leave early, On Saturday itself. There won't be much to do when they are gone." Aunt suggested. "That would be a good idea. Ata also wanted to set off on Saturday." Said her mother. Grandparents looked a bit not satisfied with this. "Aziz and Zahra are already there. So I think the kids will manage it." Said her Father. My grandparents were now satisfied. They were afraid of the kids namely Farhan and Nadim causing trouble. Afreen would also add to list if it is something evil. "That would be good. If they won't cause any trouble there" Grandpa said. "With them gone we can focus on ourselves as well." Said Grandma. "So it's finalized. You all will leave Saturday morning and Ata they will pick up. Danish will look after them. " mom said looking at each one of us. Very good, my schedule is now messed up.
