Ata was literally flying all around the house. Once in the living room, then in the garden, then in the kitchen and everywhere. But now she was missing. Last I saw her, was leaving the kitchen hiding something.
"Danish beta, Can you please call Ata?" Her Aunt said. I looked around the house but didn't find her. The last stop was her room. And she was there. Odd thing was that she didn't receive the door and instead asked me to enter. Her light green dupatta was on the bed and she was peeping from the bathroom. Like Peeping! With doe eyes, biting her rosy lips. I locked the door as instructed and she went back to the bathroom. What am I supposed to do? I slowly approached the bathroom door and saw her through the mirror.
Her hair is tied. She stood with the support of the counter and one hand under the flowing water. Her hand was shivering. When asked she casually told me about the burn. "Danish, it's fine." Her voice was laced with concern, trying to assure me. But, what? Her hand is burned and she was assuring me rather than treating it. I was about to take her to the bed. Let her sit when I at least tried to treat the burn. But no, Nuha, and her Aunt decided to not let it happen. "Danish you have to leave, before someone comes." We were near her bed "and you need to treat this." I raised her hand. "Okay fine I will ask Sara to do it. But you need to,.." Knock Knock. "What the hell are you doing? Ata" Sara was here. But our hands are still holding each other. "Make sure you treat it" I whispered against her ear. She opened the door and I left nodding to the shocked Sara. One random Ceremony
She looked beautiful, her open hair, simple yellow dress, and a radiating smile. All I could do was look at her from afar and I smiled unknowingly. My eyes went to her hand. She had covered it with a wet cloth all day, hiding it from the majority.
"How is your hand?" I approached her as soon as I found alone. "It's fine. Looks unharmed." True. It looked normal at first but if you focus you will see light discolored skin. "Good." And again she was gone.NIKAAH
The Ivory coloured dress matches her today's role as the younger sister. The dress complimented her simplicity with minimal jewellery to divert attention to. The hair was perfectly covered with the dupatta. She anxiously waited for Aziza to accept and sign the papers. "Qabool Hai." And the smile on her face was unmatched. Her eyes shined along with her teeth as she hugged Sara.
Later Aziza got emotional but Ata on the other hand was giggling.RECEPTION
"Yasir Bhai" She called tucking her hair behind her ear.
Blue is a beautiful colour and I must compliment my choice. It was a sea blue lehenga. With delicate work of golden. Her black hair was open but held at the back with a golden clip. My choice. Perfect!
Everything went well except for a few aunties taunting Ata, commenting on her, and their somewhat improper expressions. But, she, just smiled, making them feel like idiots. Later, I got to know that they were Aliya's mother and their friends. That woman did make me angry but my woman, made me feel at ease. When she said those words. 'A fiance to get head over heels for.' I am, luckily, that fiance of hers. Thankfully, it was dark enough for anyone to notice my grin and that slight rush of blood to my cheeks. When I stared at her, she didn't return the gesture, until randomly doing so. With a smile, and only for three seconds. Followed with the second contact, of the double gaze method.
Zoya Didi's husband, Hashim, an entrepreneur, was also here. I was talking to him, as a group of course, when Zoya Didi joined us. "Farhan, did you find someone?" It was her cheerful voice. He in return gave a sad face. "Oh! Don't worry I will help you." And they both stood next to each other. Zoya Didi with her folded hands and twisted nose, eyed the girls up and down, while Farhan had his head low. Like a good boy he was. "She is cute, but not good. That girl is beautiful." Farhan didn't look at them, he was staring at his shoes. "Farhan, look at her, she is perfect." It was a girl, with dark brown hair. My eyes didn't linger on her for a second, before I focused on the girl who was with her. It was her, Ata. She was smiling and talking, when suddenly she looked at me. I didn't back off, and neither did she. Bidding farewell with her eyes still on me, she approached us. "Beautiful." Was the word, which I said out loud. Heads turned not towards me but towards Farhan, because, I was not only me who said that. "Oh right, that girl is beautiful." Zoya Didi didn't notice who his gaze lingered on. "I have to leave." He said and walked away. "Hun? What's wrong with him?" She was slightly angry. But it vanished when Hashim, her husband, held her shoulder and smiled. "You look lovely." She finally stood in front of me. "Aww! Ata. Thank you." "You look beautiful Ata" "The colour really suits you." The couple complimented her. I noticed her raising her shoulders and smiling with flushed cheeks. She carefully turned her eyes towards me. She wanted to say something, and almost did, but was cut off by a girl calling her name. She smiled and walked away. "Bhai, you should have told Bhabhi." "That she looked beautiful" Afreen and Nadim said. I didn't reply and only looked around. "It's enough that you look at her." There was softness, in Zoya Didi's eyes.
