Safety was always one of the Farmer's last worries. What he sought out was the rush; the sweat collecting on his body, his heart racing a mile a minute. That's what he wanted.

After a dangerously silent day on the farm, an idea crossed Farmer's mind.

Today I will reach the bottom of the mines.

The bottom of the mines was likely a myth, a delusion planted in Farmer's mind by old man Marlon. Nobody had reached it prior to Farmer's attempt. And after the accident it's likely nobody else would try...

Regardless of the dangers, Farmer happily took his pickaxe and sword with him and pressed on the elevator button of fate.

He was strong, strong like a farmer should be. The kind of muscle that built through years of cutting trees and breaking stone. Not that much muscle did show if you looked at Farmer, hidden behind his enjoyment of a good meal.

It was with this strength that Farmer easily went down five floors of the mine within an hour. He felt a surge of pride when hearing the "ding" of the elevator. Farmer continued, but the monsters here were once again different than before. They were mostly red, warm to the touch. In fact each time they hit him it burned, and the floor began to burn his feet as well.

"What the-" Farmer began to think aloud before a red bat flew into his head again.

"Dammit Yoba!" He cursed, taking out his sword.

Farmer was quickly growing tired from swinging his heavy sword. He had eaten the last of his food and looking around, he was cornered by the new fiery monsters.

He tried to muster up the energy to break through the hoard of slimes and bats and new monsters he couldn't name. But the human body can only take so much, Farmer's eyesight was failing him, his limbs were going numb, and his body begged for sleep.

He begged himself for the willpower to break through, just to the ladder, just to he can reach the top of the mines where someone can find him.

Farmer managed to kill off most of the smaller monsters and he began to run towards the ladder until a sharp cold feeling hit his back.

Looking down, Farmer saw a strange sharp bone protruding his stomach. He turned his neck only to meet eyes with a soulless skeleton man, using one of its own bones as a sword.

The skeleton, seemingly satisfied with its work, pulled out the bone sword and walked away. Farmer fell onto the ground, no longer able to hold up his weight. He pressed a hand onto his core to find warm blood quickly leaving his body.

He wondered if this was it. Did anyone even know where he was? If they did would there even be an attempt to find him? Everyone thought the mines were dangerous, especially the lower levels. Who would dare go down to level 80?

He didn't expect to die this way, bleeding out in the mines. Farmer thought he'd be an old man, probably tied down with someone special, he would close his eyes one night and see Yoba. Not that he was religious, but it made him feel better about dying.

Would I see Yoba if I closed my eyes right now? He thought to himself.

He remembered all the movies with doctors begging their patients to stay awake, hoping to give them a chance at living. But there were no doctors around, just a pounding in Farmer's head from fatigue.

He could feel his breath grow softer, and the only warmth was the fiery mines around him. Farmer thought of sitting on his porch, it would be a lovely spring day where the sun shined and his crops grew to perfection. He never really sat down to enjoy those things, and now he likely never would.

Tears streamed down Farmer's face and he closed his eyes. He prayed to himself in his last conscious moment.

"Please care of my dog Yoba, she's a good girl. Find her an owner that will take her hiking so she can run around trees the way she loves. If I die today, please let someone find me. Let my mom know she'll be ok. In your name, Yoba, bless my soul."

Finally the darkness took over the recesses of his mind, and he laid there unconscious.
