Sebastian always minded his business and kept to himself. In fact, he never gave much thought to other people unless it was Sam or Abigail. But when Farmer came into their lives, it completed them.

Farmer was like their missing puzzle piece, he was outgoing, snarky, and he had a huge adventurous spirit. He was willing to learn to skateboard with Sam, go into the mines with Abigail, and fix up Sebastian's motorcycle. He was the friend they all needed.

Until he was more.

Sebastian was not surprised by Farmer and Abigail getting together, they seemed closer than the rest of the group, and Farmer shared Abigail's passion of monsters and fighting. What was surprising was how quickly it all went downhill.

The pair had stopped interacting with Sam and Sebastian completely, they always had to be together. A love-filled obsession with the other placed them within their own bubble of existence. However, Farmer soon became distant even with Abigail. As if his energy to have relationships had run out, all he seemed to do was follow the wind of his obsessions. The latest having been the community center and his farm.

Sebastian had witnessed first hand, the arguments, the begging, the crying, and the storming away. Him and Sam worried about Abigail, and it took months of reaching out to finally reason with her. Farmer wasn't the same.

And after a while, Abigail was exhausted of the relationship. Months of crying to Sebastian and Sam, months of crying to herself, she made the decision to leave him.

The whole ordeal was messy.

But it was not the break up that passed through Sebastian's mind when his mother told him the news.

It was the last night he saw Farmer that passed through his memory.

The night was cold and frigid with thundering rain, perfect weather in Sebastian's eyes. Sebastian was brooding on the board walk by Willy's shack, as he had grown accustomed to doing as an escape from the world.

Farmer walked up next to Sebastian on the boardwalk, his head held down. Out of courtesy, Sebastian held his umbrella over the both of them.

"It's over now. Me and Abi." Farmer stated solemnly.

"I'm not surprised Farmer. You put her through hell." Sebastian replied, a slight bitterness in his tone.

"I really was busy with the farm."

"No, you made yourself busy. I've been in your same position, doing everything I possibly can to run away from the thoughts in my head. I'll tell you now it doesn't work. What are you running from Farmer? Abi? Sam? Me?" Sebastian cried out in frustration.

"I- I can't tell you." Farmer said with shame in his voice.

"Then I hope it's worth losing us. Get some fucking help Farmer, because whatever is in your mind is screwing you over. It's only going to hurt more people around you." Sebastian said flatly. He turned around and began to walk home, silent tears making their way down his face.

The last Sebastian heard of him were the gentle sobs Farmer let out as they parted ways.

Sebastian walked away because he knew he served his purpose as Farmer's friend. Farmer could no longer come to him looking for an escape from the world, the answers for his issues lied in himself. However, Sebastian still wondered, would he have walked away if he knew Farmer might lose his life?
