CW: Mentions of blood, injury, surgery and medically induced drugs. It's tame though.

Dethra's POV

The girl in my arms shifted and soon opened her eyes. It took her a couple of seconds to awaken fully, but her confusion would not disappear. I do not blame her.

"Bluctro?" was the first thing she said. Not surprising.

"I'm here Luce. Don't worry. You should rest.", he replied.

"Where are we going?" Her voice was still very sleepy. She will probably fall back asleep in a minute.

This time I replied. "To your house. You need some more help." But as predicted, her mind and body could not stay awake any longer. She couldn't even form a proper word anymore. The only thing that came out of her mouth were a few confused sounds, which probably were supposed to form a question.
She was totally not here with us. She didn't even notice that Bluctro is currently on my back, or that I am sprinting.

The night was dark. The town has once again gone to sleep. The moon could not help with the small amount of light it reflected. Perfect conditions to sneak into the town once again. Especially now that I am not the only one who has to stay hidden.
I have learned that the route to Luce's house is a pretty safe one. Not only does she live in an outer part of town, but there are also rarely teenagers sneaking around at night. Cameras are also not a problem. It is easy to turn them off remotely while walking by. Nobody will check if there are ten seconds missing anyway. But if somebody did, they wouldn't question it for long.
No, that is not a threat. Humans often just don't really question strange happenings.

Not many minutes later we found ourselves on the doorstep to Luce's house. Bluctro rang the bell three times until light shone out of an upper window. Angry steps were heard as a female voice came nearer.

"Who the fuck has the fucking audacity to visit my fucking door in the middle of the fucking night to fucking ring at my fuckin doorbell?". Dorothy began to open the door. She didn't even check who was waiting outside. I think I need to give her a lesson to always check, especially at night. "What the fuck do yo- Luce! My baby!"
A shotgun was quickly pointed at my head. "What kind of sick joke is this? Have you done this to her? Did you Kill my husband? Are you coming for the whole family now?" tears began to form in her eyes.

"No, Mrs. Balton, please. I was a friend of Mike. The people who have killed him have come for Luce. She isn't dying, but she needs urgent care. Time is precious."

She lowered the gun. "Come in"

It is very risky for a human to just let two robots, who are carrying their dead looking daughter, into their house, without further questioning. Especially in a world where humanoid robots walking around the streets is not common. She trusted us a little too quickly. We could have been the evil one's. I will let that one slide though, because her quick trusting lies in our favor.

Dorothy led us to the living room and I put Luce on the couch. "Now please just tell me what exactly happened". Tears were streaming down the mothers face, unsurprisingly.

I spoke slowly, "The government has found Luce. They attacked her and Bluctro, the blue robot. I killed the men who attacked them. Luce got shot while fleeing. I took out the bullet and stopped the bleeding, but her knee needs to be replaced. We need to flee, but she needs surgery. We also couldn't just take her away without her family knowing."

"Ta- take her away?" she sniffled. "What can I do?"

She understands quickly, that's good. We have no time for more questions. Yes, I changed my mind.
"I know how to do surgery, you can trust me with that. But I need a sterile environment, further tools and lots of antibiotics. Can you help us further with that?"
