Hello Angel. Bucky said as he came in. He was in a wheelchair and looked weak, but other then that, seemed fine.

I loved it when he called me angel. He said it so sweetly, as though he was afraid to call me it.

Hello Soldier Boy. I replied.

He straight up grinned. I sighed gently. I would miss his smile. It was obvious by the was he was acting, that he had not heard the news. I was glad. I knew it would wreck the last few moment we had together if he was worried. I saw his smile fade a bit. He came over and gently stroked my face.

I bet I look awful. I said.

You have never been more beautiful.

I smiled and tried to memorize the feeling of his hand on my face. Something soft was on my lips. My eyes flew open. Slowly, so as not to hurt myself, my arms went around his neck. I tried to memorize the feel of his lips on mine. He broke apart gently.

Bucky. I...I love you. So much. I have to go in for another surgery soon. I.....Just remember that I love you.

I love you too angel.

He gave me one farewell kiss and left. Steve entered a moment later. I knew immediately that he knew.

Is it true? He whispered.

I nodded. He looked down at me. I could tell he was upset.

Steve. You have been the greatest friend a girl could ask for. You have always been like a brother to me. I am so sorry. Bucky will need you. You will be all he has left. Please. Promise me you will take care of him.

He doesn't know does he? You didn't tell him.

No. I couldn't. He will know soon though. Promise me Steve.

I promise.

He gently pulled me into a hug.

I will miss you. He whispered into my hair.

I will miss you too.

He released me as a nurse walked in.

Are you ready Miss? She asked.

I nodded. Steve gave my hand a final squeeze and then left as I was wheeled down the hallway in my bed. The room was white. It smelled awful. Like death. A mask was placed over my face. The last thing I remembered, was Bucky, his hand on my face.
