MiaI couldn't help but look at my paper as I sat in science class. I have been so busy filling out university applications that I completely forgot to study for our exam.
I swear, I'm sweating bullets right now. What am I going to do if I fail this exam? How will I get into university with low test scores?
"Now remember, the exam is 25% of your grade this quarter, so make sure you do your best. No talking during the exam, and if you have any questions, please raise your hand and wait for me to call you to my desk in silence. You have the remainder of the class to finish your exam. You may begin... now!" 0yr teacher says as she looks at her watch and begins the timer.
I sigh, opening my exam and closing my eyes, grunting inwardly. I seriously hope it's not too hard, or I'm going to faint right here, on the spot.
Jordan looks at me and smiles, winking his left eye. "You got this, Mia," he whispers, making me smile. "Thanks, you too," I whisper back, turning back to my exam.
Maybe I'm overthinking this exam, though, right? How hard can it be? It's only... 25% of my grade. Damn... I'm so screwed!
I wrote my name down, along with the date and class number on it, turned the page, and began my exam. But to my surprise, Jordan was right; the exam was easy. It was all review from the first quarter of our class, mainly focusing on the names of the bones and muscles in our body.
I sigh in relief and finish with fifteen minutes to spare. I put my pencil down and smile, standing up and handing in my exam. Jordan looks at me in shock as I sit back next to him.
Once the bell rings, I grab my backpack and head to my next class. Jordan follows me, placing his hand on my shoulder.
"Ok, you, young lady, are full of surprises."
"Me?" I asked, chuckling.
"Well, yeah. You made it seem like you knew nothing about the test, yet you were among the first to finish. It's not fair, Mia. It's not fair," he says, making me chuckle.
"That's because my girlfriend is the smartest girl in the entire school," Nate says, placing his hand around my shoulders and startling me.
"Hi, babe!" I say, kissing his cheek, making him smile. His dimples dipped, making me smile brightly.
"Hi. Are you ready for lunch?" "Ugh, yes. I'm starving!" I reply, making them chuckle.
"Tell me about it. The exam made me work up an appetite." Jordan adds, making me chuckle.
"Boy, breathing makes you work up an appetite," Nate adds, making us burst into laughter.
We make our way into the cafeteria and make a beeline, grabbing a tray and beginning to grab our food choice for today. This time, I went for a sandwich with a bowl of fruit, a small chocolate cake, and juice.
Nate and Jordan went with their usual burgers with fries and soda. I don't get how they are so fit and skinny while eating junk food every day and still look so damn good!
When we got there, part of our group was already sitting, enjoying their food, and the rest slowly joined us.
Once we ate our lunch, we sat and talked for the rest of our lunch break. But I groaned as I heard Andrea and her friends' pitchy voices as they began to get rowdy. I had completely forgotten they were returning to school today, making me grunt inwardly.
"Hi, guys." Kate and Kenzie greet us as they join our table.
"I swear, they were all hot! Who knew cheer guys were so strong and sexy!" Andrea says audibly, looking toward our table. I roll my eyes as she gives me a death stare. "Yeah, they lifted us with ease." a cheer said.
