Edwards's POV:
It was New Year's Eve, eleven seconds til midnight. She was standing in the woods with Jacob. They were holding hands and smiling, when my watch displayed 12 AM.
He leaned into kiss her and she let him. They smiled at each other as she pulled away.
I clenched my fists into balls, and began to cry silently. I knew this would happen, but not so soon. I just wanted to be him. I wanted to hold Bella at midnight. I wanted to kiss her. I wanted to be in her future. I wanted to be with her.
Yet, here I am. Standing and watching. Hoping I'll get over her, or at least be happy for them.
I sighed as she wrapped her hands around his neck while they kissed again. I stalked off to the house to see Alice bouncing up and down, "Happy New Year, Edward!"
"Happy New Year, Alice," I smiled and was met by Jasper.
"Haven't seen you since last year, little brother," he smirked and walked off with Alice. Thinking about some vile things.
If I could, I would've thrown up.
I went back to watch Bella and Jacob, but they weren't there anymore. I followed her scent to find that she had crossed the boundary line with him. Great.
I sighed as I stalked back, listening through their thoughts.
"Hey, guys, this is my girlfriend, Bella!" Jacob exclaimed cheerfully.
One boy smiled and waved, "Hi, Bella! My name's Quil!" He smiled and thought, I hope she's good to Jacob, he deserves someone nice.
I scoffed and the next guy introduced himself, "I'm Embry." He smirked and winked, way drunk. Well, she's a looker, I wonder if she's any fun.
Embry tossed Jacob and Bella a beer bottle each. Bella frowned at it, "Oh, umm, I don't drink. Not old enough, sorry!" She handed it back to him.
Embry frowned, "Rules shmules!"
Jacob chugged his and Bella's beers, along with a few more. Bella sat on his lap as they all spoke.
She laughed at their jokes, they were all wasted. Except Bella, "I think I'm going to go home now! My Jake!"
She hopped off his lap and looked at Quil and Embry, "It was nice meeting you both!"
"You too!" Quil cheered. Embry nodded. Bella started walking and Jacob followed.
They were a couple of yards from the boundary line when Jacob got ballsy.
"Hey beautiful," he had her up against a tree and was kissing her sloppily.
I was staring so intensely I didn't notice Emmett, Alice, and Carlisle standing next to me.
"Jake, I have to get home. My family's probably worried," she mumbled.
"You're no fun, Bella!" he started kissing her neck, unzipping her jacket.
"Jacob, what are you doing?" she looked scared. It took every ounce of me not to go and help her.
He didn't respond, but he tried to take off her shirt instead. "Jacob, stop!" She shoved him off of her and looked at him, scared. "You're drunk, Jake!"
"And? You should be too!" he laughed and then walked towards her.
She was backing towards the boundary line. Yes. Keep going, Bella!
"I'm going home, bye, Jake!" She took off sprinting, but he caught her wrist after they both crossed.
He shoved her to the ground and she screamed. I lunged toward him and tackled him. "Go home, Jacob." I growled.
