Bella's POV:
I felt my eyes flutter open, and Edward raced to my side. "Oh, Bella!"
He smiled and pulled me close to him, "Ow!" I screamed.
His eyes widened and he returned to the seat just as the nurses walked in.
They all began to write things down and left once more. "How long have I been out?"
"Two days," he muttered.
"Well-"
"Bella, I'm seriously considering never letting you out of my sight again. Do you know how worried all of us have been?"
"Bu-"
He cut me off again, "I mean. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal to you, but we've all be-"
"EDWARD!" I screamed, and my heart monitor sped up.
He held up five fingers and sat back down. The nurse reappeared, "Is something wrong?"
"No, no, I'm quite alright," I smiled and she looked at me skeptically. "My leg just hurts."
She nodded and did something with my IV, "It should feel better soon. Click the button," she gestured towards the remote, "When you need another dose!"
I nodded, why did that hurt?
She smiled and exited. Edward feigned waking up and ran back over to me. I smiled as he sat down next to the bed like a little dog.
He looked sad, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, don't worry, Bella," he smiled but I could tell something was wrong.
I sighed, "Ow!"
"Should I call the nurse?" he moved to sitting on the actual bed.
"No, I'll be alright," I smiled and messed his hair up.
He smiled and sighed, "Bella. That wasn't very responsible of you." He lectured.
"To be fair, he tricked me," I argued.
"Were you not expecting that?" he pressed, "He was a hunter."
"Wait. Was?" my eyes widened and I tried to keep my heart at a steady rate.
He shrugged, "I ripped his head off, the others turned him to ash."
I sighed, and he continued, "So, how did he trick you?"
"He told me he had Esme," I muttered, "He played some recordings I had in my ro-"
"He was in our room?" Well, if he was mad before, he'd be furious now.
"Our room?" I teased, trying to lighten the mood.
He looked at everything but me. I never thought I'd see the day Edward Cullen was embarrassed.
"I'll, uh, send Alice in," he muttered.
"No need!" Alice dashed in.
Edward walked out and it looked as if Alice had handed him something.

Edward's POV:
I hope that ill-excuse of a vampire comes back, because I'd tear and burn him forever.
I crumbled the camera until it was ash, and began to sob.
Bella didn't deserve this, this was all me. If I had stayed calm then, we wouldn't be here.
Carlisle rested his hand on my shoulder, It'll be okay, son.
I cried and cried, Carlisle just stood there.
"He was in her room," I eventually managed.
"How?" his eyes widened, "Rosalie never left."
"Well, he got it," I muttered.
Carlisle sighed, "It's over now. Everything's okay. Bella's right inside the hospital."
"Yeah, but barely alive," I muttered.
"This is true, but she is alive. She's alive because of you, son," he smiled. "Everything will be alright, Alice said so."
I shrugged, "Oh, well."
Maybe turning her-
"No!" I roared, "You'd have to take her to some other planet for me to do that!"
"It was just a thought, son," he apologized.
Alice skipped out, "She's asking for you, and she'll be released in two days."
She skipped off to a taxi, Jasper following. They'd be in Forks by then.
I sighed, "What am I supposed to do Carlisle?" I muttered.
"What do you mean, Edward?" he questioned.
"Ever since she's turned seventeen, she's fallen," I whispered.
"I don't follow."
I sighed, "Everyone and everything bad has happened to her. No one has that much bad luck."
"Maybe it's her dose of reality from behind the walls of our home," he replied.
I raised an eyebrow, "We've protected her from the outside world for eleven years. She was practically locked in a tower!" He joked, "This is just making up for it."
I nodded, "I'm just glad we won't have to worry about the other planet thing."
We both shared a laugh, "I think it's time you go visit Bella."
I nodded and walked too slowly to her room. She was sleeping once again, and it was all quiet. I slipped into her room's bathroom and looked in the mirror. The red rim around my eyes haunted me.
It was, indeed fading, so slight no human could see it.
I sighed and sat in the recliner I'd claimed across from her bed.
"I keep breaking my promise don't I, Bella?" I smiled and then her hand twitched.
"It's not your fault," she mumbled. Was she talking to me or was she in a dream?
I waited for another response but got nothing. I sighed again, "I love you, Bella."
"I love me too," she mumbled.
I chuckled and she smiled.
"My Bella." I whispered.
