The next day, Julie contemplated what to do while sitting at the breakfast table.

It was saturday morning, and Flynn had agreed to come over that afternoon. Julie had figured that the best way to tell if other people could see the phantoms or not.

She sat idly, twirling a curl between her fingers and staring into space. Her dad and brother were out for one of his baseball games, so she was home alone.

She decided to return to her room and work on some lyrics before she went to talk to the guys. That always helped clear her mind.

Just as she was getting up to go back to her room, a knock sounded on the door.

"Who's that?" Julie wondered aloud.
Her house didn't usually get a lot of visitors, especially when her dad wasn't home.

She opened the door to see Nick. He turned around dramatically, a strange expression on his face.

He held a small bouquet of flowers. Julie took them with a small smile.

"Thanks, Nick." She said politely, one hand still on the door.

Nick grinned back at her. "Of course. How are you this morning? I was wondering if we could take a short walk."

Julie grimaced, remember the last time he'd asked her out. Had he really forgotten?

"As friends, of course," He assured her, stepping back with his hands up. "I promise it's nothing weird."

Well, he was being nice about it.. "Sure," Julie agreed, setting the bouquet down on a nearby table and joining him outside.

It was a clear day, and sunlight streamed through the trees, speckling the ground with sunspots. A light breeze stirred the plants around her, making faint rustling sounds.

"So, is there anything you wanted to talk to me about?" Julie inquired, breaking the short silence.

Nick smiled at her again. "Nothing, I just wanted to tell you how amazing you were at the Orpheum last night. I was seriously impressed. You and that ghost band of yours play pretty well together."

Julie stopped in her stride, heart dropping. "G-ghost band?" She laughed nervously.

Nick looked at her strangely. "Yeah, you know, your holograms?"

"Oh, that. For sure! They really do play well." Julie puffed out in relief. The events of last night had put her on the edge.

They continued walking in a comfortable silence for a while longer, circling around Julie's block.

After about five minutes, they reached her front walkway, and Julie turned to wave goodbye.

"Thanks for walking with me, I really enjoyed the company." Nick said smoothly. "I hope you like your flowers," He added with a wink.

Julie couldn't help but smile. "I'll see you on Monday. Bye, Nick!" She turned around with a final wave and turned back to the house.

The guys suddenly poofed on the path in front of her, looking excited.

Julie jumped a little. She still wasn't used to that.

"Julie! Guess what!" Luke piped up, eyes shining.

"What is it?" She asked. This was her first time seeing the guys since last night, and something about them looked different.

Reggie and Alex looked at Luke expectantly, waiting for him to spill.

"Okay so, me and Reggie were out early this morning messing around in the garden when we saw a squirrel. Usually animals don't notice us, so we wanted to get closer to see it. But it ran away!!"
Luke was practically bouncing up and down with excitement, grinning widely.

Julie giggled. He could be kinda cute sometimes. But after a moment, she realized what he meant.

"Wait, so that means-" "People might be able to see us!!" Reggie chimed in, equally excited.

This both intrigued and freaked Julie out. "We've gotta stay in the garage then. Flynn is gonna be here this afternoon so we can test out our theories then." Julie replied thoughtfully.

Luke's demeanor dimmed from her dull response.

"Yeah, I guess."

Julie felt a twinge of guilt. "Sorry Luke, I just have to figure this whole thing out. It'll be awesome if you guys can be seen by other people." She gave him an apologetic smile, then motioned for the guys to follow her into the garage.

They all decided that playing music would help them loosen up after all the stress of the night before, so they began playing some new songs Julie and Luke had been working on.

Falling into their usual routine, they played in sync, lost in the rhythm of the music.

Julie couldn't help but relax while singing with Luke. This had become her favorite way to pass time.

She stole a glance at him. His eyes were closed as he belted into the microphone, singing with a smile on his face.

She loved the way he always put so much passion into preforming, even when it was just the band and no audience. That's how she could tell he really loved the music as much as she did.

Luke opened his eyes, catching Julie staring at him. She looked away quickly, heat rushing to her cheeks, and turned to Reggie instead, harmonizing with him on the chorus.

Julie would be stupid if she hadn't noticed the chemistry her and Luke showed during their preformances. So many people had mentioned it, and she felt it herself.

She just wished she could tell if Luke was doing it genuinely, or if he was putting it on for the show. She felt his warm gaze boring into her back, but she didn't turn around.

Meeting his eyes was sure to make her melt on the spot.
