Chapter Three

It was almost 2 P.M by the time Flynn arrived. Julie and the guys had given up playing music and resorted to laying around the room anxiously waiting for her arrival.

The only noise in the room was the quiet buzz of a standing fan in the corner.

Reggie was sprawled out on the floor like a starfish, sighing deeply every few minutes,

Alex was leaning against the couch doing sudoku puzzles,

while Luke sat close to Julie, chin on her shoulder while she showed him the mobile games on her phone.

Flynn burst in, hurting everyone's ears with the sudden noise. Even her outfit was loud.

She wore a pair of black leather pants, a teal rhinestone belt, and a hot pink top with a black beret.

Her eyes circled the room, landing on the band, who were now all perked up awaiting her reaction. If she could see them, a lot was about to change.

Flynn's jaw dropped when she saw them. "I CAN SEE YOU GUYS?"

Those five words were enough to send the whole room to chaos. Luke and Reggie exchanged excited looks, while Alex glanced nervously back at Julie.

Change wasn't his strongest suite.

She shot him a reassuring smile, then leaped from the couch, practically jumping on Flynn.

"This is insane!" Julie laughed. She motioned for the guys to join her. "Let's see if you can feel them too."

Flynn reached a hand toward Reggie, like she had a couple weeks before when she first found out about the ghosts.

Her fingertips abruptly stopped, almost bending from the force. "Ow! I wasn't expecting that to actually work! What the heck?"

As Flynn hopped around waving her hand in pain, Julie began pacing the floor. She couldn't even bring herself to laugh at Flynn's antics. Thoughts raced through her mind faster than she could even process them.

Did this mean everyone could see the guys? What about their families? How would people they knew when they were alive react?

Alex's voice snapped her back to reality. "So, what now? I mean, do we just carry on playing the band like normal? What's gonna happen?"

Luke shrugged in reply. "Who knows, man. I'm just stoked to be able to eat again," He had found an old box of pizza underneath the couch and was going to town on it.

Julie snatched the box away. "What, are you trying to die again? Did you learn nothing?"

Flynn had finally stopped flailing her hands around and spoke up again. "We should take the guys outside and see if other people can see them. Go to that burger place on Sunset, maybe?" She suggested.

Luke and Reggie perked up at the mention of food, but Alex remained silent, clearly bothered by something.

"Let's try to keep an eye out for Willie, too. I wonder if I can even still see him," He said, a worried expression plastered on his face.

"We can hit a couple extra streets on the way and see if we find any sign of him, ok?" Reggie laid a comforting hand on Alex's shoulder.

"What do you think, Jules?" Flynn asked, turning to her best friend.

Julie waved dismissively. "I'll stay here and plan some things out. I don't think I could eat right now anyways." She answered. "You all go on ahead without me,"

Luke turned from Reggie, where he'd been hitting his back like drums. "Aw man, I wanted you to come." He pouted jokingly.

Julie rolled her eyes. "We've got enough to worry about here. Someone has to handle it." She replied sensibly.

Flynn shrugged. "If you say so. Come on guys, lets go!"

The group of four paraded out the door, chattering among themselves.

"Tell me if you see any signs of Willie!" Julie called. Alex turned back, giving her a thumbs-up.

The studio was eerily quiet once they had gone, and Julie walked over to the piano to help soothe her mind.

She flipped up the top of the piano bench, revealing a small compartment filled with loose papers.

They were covered in the small, neat handwriting that belonged to Julie's mother, all except for one wrinkled sheet on the top.

The title margin read "Perfect Harmony" scrawled in quick and messy handwriting.

Julie set the page on the piano. She had been working on the song for a while, and it had soon become a way for her to relax.

Taking a deep breath, she took a seat at the piano and gently rested her fingers on the keys.

This chapter was a little longer than my others😭 I had plans for the whole chapter but had to end up cutting it in half because it was running long.

I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter!! I'll have the next one out tomorrow :)
