As soon as I opened my eyes, I heard the sound of my alarm going off. I realized that I was alone in bed, with no sign of Jace anywhere. It didn't bother me though, because I knew she had left during the night to avoid my dad seeing her. I reached for my phone and saw that she had left me a sweet good morning text. I quickly replied and got out of bed to go to the bathroom. On my way there, I bumped into my mom.

"Good morning, mommy," I greeted her, and she kissed my cheek in response. I entered the bathroom, splashed water on my face, and brushed my teeth. After finishing up, I headed downstairs to the kitchen. I noticed my mom waving me over to join her. I sat at the counter, and she began to speak.

"Your grandma is coming to visit," my heart sank as I heard those words. My grandma was even worse than my dad. I had stopped visiting her house when I was around 7 because she and my siblings would constantly hurt me. Tears welled up in my eyes as I shook my head, unable to handle the thought of all four of them ganging up against me.

"Can I stay with Jace while she's here?" I looked at my mom with pleading eyes and she just shook her head no. I felt the tears come down as I could already see how I was going to be treated in just a few hours. My mom walked up to me and grabbed my hair pulling me up toward her. I let out a scream from the pain and the shock of my mom hurting me.

"Stop fucking crying that's all you do." she yelled in my face before slapping me. She let go of my hair as she pushed me to the ground. I tried to calm myself down but I was in utter shock. I looked up at her from the floor not saying anything. This was the first time mom ever hit me. Her and Jace never put their hands on me until now. My mom had just lost all my trust and she didn't even know it.

"Enza, are you paying attention the lesson?" my math teacher called out. I nodded my head yes focusing back in on my book. I hated math class I could barely understand it. Ive been looking for Jace all morning and for some reason I can't find her. Usually she comes and finds me but I couldn't help but feel that maybe I had pissed her off. The bell rang signaling it was time for our next class. I gathered my things rushing out so I wouldn't get caught in the hallway traffic.

Knowing if I got caught in the traffic I most likely have a panic attack. I spotted Jace standing with one of her teammates and walked toward them. Usually I wouldn't approach her when she was with friends but I really needed to be around her this morning considering what my mom did.

"Jace, can I talk you please?" I stuttered out shyly. I gained a few giggles for tripping over damn near all my words. Jace pulled me into her arms giving me a hug. she asked gently  if I was okay placing her hand under my shirt. I nodded my head leaning into her. She sat and talked to her friends considering they were seniors and didn't have a class to attend.

"Let's go to the library." Jace said out loud to everyone. Her friends moved forward as we stayed back for a second.

"Are you sure they want to be around me?" I asked Jace skeptical as she pulled me along behind them.

"I want you around, so you're gonna be around i don't care what they want." She kissed my lips making me blush uncontrollably. We walked in the library siting across from her friends in the other couch. I listened ti them talk for a while about basketball and other things but I quickly became bored cause ing me to become antsy. I started to move around in my seat causing Jace to look over to me.

"You okay?" She asked laughing.
"Im anxious, can we go get in the pool at your house?" I questioned her bouncing up and down in my seat.

"That's sounds fun Jace, let's do what Enza said" Katie one of her friends agreeing with me.
Jace shook her head no saying that it was the middle of the week.
