THIRD PERSON POV
CHAPTER 7
Rick didn't appreciate all the drama that came storming into the medical room at Hershel's farm. He hadn't even had a full nights rest before Shane, Lori, Daryl, and Dale came busting into the room.
Each one was shouting different things. Shane and Lori preaching about how they should just kill the farmer's family, Hope, Merle, and anyone who stood in their way of staying on the farm.
Daryl was screaming in their faces trying to get them out of the room. Threatening lord knew what. And Dale was screaming about how everyone deserved equal opportunities and life and they should be able to come to some sort of agreement with the farmer.
Of course Rick really didn't care about that. He had been in a coma up until one month ago, and when he woke up the world was in fucking shambles. Not only had he had to kill people, zombies, whatever, but he had to watch people die continually.
The dead were walking, his best friend nearly killed his son, a girl he hadn't even met had used magic of all things to save his son's life, and now they were waking him up by screaming over whether or not they were going to kill the people that had taken them in.
"Enough." His voice was hoarse, unused. He didn't feel like he was at full strength, that was easy to admit, but there was no time for weakness anymore. A fact that he didn't enjoy.
The screaming continued, making his blood pressure rise. Daryl was red in the face, as was Shane, and they were each in each other's faces.
Rick wanted to smack them all over the back of the head. The lack of respect for him and his son, when his son was just on death's door. And beyond that, the lack of respect for this other kid, Pedro. He would be damned if they thought they could just walk all over them like that.
"I said," His voice was loud, thick, and raspy, "That's enough."
He ended his statement by fully standing, a scowl etched into his dirty face, "If you think coming into here, my son's medical room, on someone else's property, in their house, and threatening to kill them to take their land is acceptable," he paused, his voice getting louder, stronger, enough so that he had drawn Hope and Merle to the doorway, "Then you are both out of line."
Shane snarls his face up, turning his full anger from Daryl to Rick, "You don't know..."
Rick interrupts him, stepping forward, "I don't know what? What it was like? What you had to sacrifice? How you had to lead everyone? You don't know, Shane. I will not have this conversation with you again. Get you and yours the fuck out of this room, the fuck out of this house, and if you can't calm down, the fuck out of my camp."
Lori gasped, trying to interrupt, but Hope decided that was a great time to intervene, "You heard him, potato head and paper bag, get the fuck out of the room. I need to check the children."
