All day I had been following this fascinating new girl around. All of her features were just so unique. She has long blonde hair that bounced when she walked. The lilt of her gait was so joyful, you couldn't help but to be happy yourself. She was a meister, and as far as I knew, I was first in line to be her weapon partner, which delighted me to no end. I was snapped out of my thoughts by another school bell. I stood from my chair and exited the room as swiftly as I could so as to be out at the front of the building to see if I could spot Maka after school so I could meet up with her to talk about a possible partnership. I finally approached the door, just as I caught Kid staring daggers at me as he walked out, followed by his weapons, Liz and Patty. I had no idea how people presumed that they were twins, considering the height and hair differences, and the most troubling to Kid, the fact that he claims "their boobs are different sizes." I suppose Kid could be a tool if he wanted to be.
I caught Maka's eye and smiled, and waved at her. She grinned back and approached me.
"Hey Soul, are we still on for tea?" she asked me.
"Of course, you know, tea's cool," I tried to respond, mentally chastising myself for sounding like an idiot. That was the complete opposite of cool. We started on our way to the tea room.

We sat down in a booth and ordered some tea. We exchanged simple niceties for a while and then began to discuss the original cause for meeting.
"So, I heard you're in need of a weapon," I started, "is that offer still on the table?"
"Of course, you seem okay, and from what I can see, you have a relatively flexible soul, resonation should be easy!" She beamed, getting excited, clearly she had done plenty of preemptive studying before attending DWMA.
"Resonation?" I asked, dumbfounded. "I hate to admit I have no idea what you mean."
"Basically, our souls have to resonate with each other in order to perform the more complex weapon moves," she explained. "You kind of learn it by feel, or so my papa tells me, like riding a bike. But, soul flexibility helps loads, so it should be a cinch!" She smacked her fist onto her hand, with a determined look on her face.
"Oh, okay, who's your dad?"
She frowned minutely. "I don't really like to talk about him, but his name is Spirit, and he's the reigning Death Scythe at DWMA."
"The Spirit?" I asked in awe, I couldn't believe she was his daughter.
"Yeah," she grumbled, then dismissed me, "but anyway, anything else we need to address?"
I prepared to drop the bomb. Screw it. "You do understand that weapon partners live with each other, right?"
"Oh..." her face dropped. I was extremely nervous now.
"That's absolutely no problem! It'll give us a chance to get to know each other better. Weapons and their meisters have to be compatible, you know," she piped up again. I sighed a mental sigh of relief.
"Cool. I suppose we need to be assigned a dorm, but that should be no problem. I'll go to Lord Death right now and ask for a dormitory," I suggested, picking up the check.
"Thanks for the tea, Soul," she said, I think I may walk you back as far as the common area to make some new friends."
