I walk over to Jennifer, feeling slightly less nervous then I had an hour ago.

Probably because I've eaten and already had my first class.

It's also Jennifer Check, I feel like I know her pretty well, although on screen might be a little bit of a different experience then in person.

I'm more curious then anything.

And I think I've come up with a small plan to avoid going to the "club" tonight.

I approach Jennifer and give her a bright smile and a hug.

Her glossy lips return the smile as she hugs me back.

"Where were you this morning? I waited for you forever! And you know, I haaate waiting Needy. It gives me flashbacks from when my spring formal date almost ditched me, for some no name! Who was trying to trash my gorgeous name the night before."

She pouted, and gave a playful roll of her eyes, through her monologue.

But still, she smiled to let me know she was kidding.

And I couldn't help but smile at her charm. She was definitely adorable in a way only she could be.

I tried to go for sympathy.

"I'm really sorry. I woke up late and almost didn't make it here. Where were we supposed to meet again? My mind has been so absent today."

I said as I looked up at her.

She blinked as she looked at me.

I almost started sweating.

"You know, you look really different today."

She said as she bit her lip.

"... Different?"

I blinked softly, trying not to seem anxious. And ran my fingers through my hair, my nervous habit.

"I haven't been getting a lot of sleep, so, that might be it."

I said as I glanced at the floor, sounding a little embarrassed.

"No. It's definitely different. Not really bad. You look good. Don't worry! It's just, I've never seen you look...like this before."

She seemed to be thinking about something deeply, in her head.

My eyes fluttered as I met her gaze.

Hers were a beautiful color of aqua, with accents of seaglass blue. Verses mine, which were dark blue, with violet accents.

I smiled at her genuine compliment.

"Thank you. I appreciate that."

"So, you wear contacts now?"

She asked with a tilt of her head.

"Oh um, no, I'm not sure why my eyes kind of changed color over the summer. We haven't really been able to talk much lately so, I haven't gotten to tell you about it yet. I was thinking about seeing a doctor or something.."

I blinked and kind of glanced away from her. Not really sure what to say about my obvious, physical changes.

She nodded.

"That's right. I was away last month on a trip with my parents. It's a shame you couldn't come with. But I'm not sure you need a doctor... I don't know. Maybe you need to get it checked out. It looks kind of unnatural. But you know, even if you're a little on the plain side, you shouldn't lie just to stand out. It makes you look bad."

She clicked her tongue and looked away, as if bored.

My head snapped up at her comment.

So not only am I plain, but I look unnatural, and I'm trying too hard by wearing contacts, and I'm lying about it, huh?
