The wind is blowing pretty strongly, we sit in the car as we wait for our coffee's to come out of the little drive through window.

I put my arm through the window on the passenger side, feeling the cool breeze.

Jennifer accepts our drinks, and hands me mine.

I smile gratefully as I eye the caramel masterpiece.

I open my straw and put it inside the drink. I take a sip and almost roll my eyes at how good it tastes.

I lick a bit of whipped cream off the tip of my finger, and turn to Jenn.

"Thank you for this! I could've bought though, you know."

I say.

She waves her hand and scrunches her face up.

"It's fine, I got it."

I smile and take another sip of my drink.

She pulls away from the drive through, and we start off down the road.

The wind blows my hair around, but I don't mind it too much since it's pretty warm out, and the air feels good.

Jennifer eyes me for a second before looking back at the road.

"Do you think you'll be okay tonight? Parties aren't really your thing. It's nice of you to go for me, but I'm worried you'll have trouble by yourself."

I smile at her.

Honestly I'm not affected by her insinuating that I need her around. I do have major social anxiety and she is a big help in that area.

Plus, it's kind of cute how she checks up on me. Even if her comments can be a little biting at times.

"I'll be okayyy. I'm really making enough effort to have a good year. I'll definitely do my best."

I give her arm a reassuring squeeze.

Her gaze softens, and she gives me a small smile back.

"I'm glad you feel that way. I know sometimes I can come off as harsh. But it's only because I care, you know?"

"I knowww."

I say with a giggle.

I do think she cares, but I have had some thoughts that maybe her intentions are a little more than that of a concerned friend.

I'm not quite sure why yet, but I'm working on figuring that out, slowly. There is definitely something going on inside her head that she's not telling me.

I'm sure we can work through it.

I tuck my hair strands behind my ear and gaze out the window as we drive.

"By the way, are you wearing extensions? You're hair looks, like, crazy long. I thought you didn't like it like that because it gets so messy, and tangled."

I don't really know what she means because Needy's hair has always been long. But it is even longer now so I can understand her suspicion.

"Oh. I've been taking good care of it. I thought it would be pretty like this. You know, just another new change I'm trying out."

She sighs, and taps her fingers on the steering wheel.

"Another one."

I glance at her, letting my lashes droop lazily as I rest my arm on the open window.

"I guess so."

We sit in silence for a minute before she talks again.

"About our conversation earlier. Are you going to tell me what's happening with Chip?"
