From Commander To Teacher

Part 10

When I woke up I felt better and sat up looking at Chakwas as she noticed I was up.

Chakwas: Are you feeling better?

Y/N: Yeah I'm feeling good.

Chakwas: Good Shepard is at the command deck, she was upset you know.

Y/N: I know... I'll talk to her, thanks doc.

Leaving the med bay I headed up to the command deck when I saw Shepard by the map and Joker came on the comms.

Joker: I forwarded the mission update to the Citadel, Commander. We've got confirmation on those reinforcements. Ambassador Udina wants us to report back to the Citadel. The Council is massing a joint-species fleet to deal with Saren and his geth. 

Shepard: I knew they'd come around. Back to the Citadel, Joker. I want the Normandy at the head of that fleet!

Joker: Yes Ma'am!

She turned and almost walked into me.

Y/N: Hey.

Then she hugged me before grabbing me by the ear dragging me to her room.

Shepard: Are you trying to get yourself killed?

Y/N: No I was just going to give him a hug-

Shepard: Stop, Y/N. Stop joking. What if you died I... I wouldn't... 

I saw her tearing up and I quickly stop joking and wrapped my arms around her.

Y/N: I'm sorry, Jane. 

Shepard: I've know you all my life basically. I don't know what would happen if I lost you...

Y/N: You won't, okay? No more stupid plans... Unless you make the stupid plan.

This got a chuckle as we broke the hug.

Shepard: Now let's get back to the Citadel. 

Finally docking at the Citadel Shepard and I went to the Council and I saw Udina here as well.

Udina: Good job, Shepard... Y/N. Thanks to the both of you, the council's finally taking real action against Saren! 

Tevos: The ambassador is correct. If Saren is foolish enough to attack the Citadel-- as you believe-- we will be ready for him. 

Sparatus: Patrols are stationed at every mass relay linking Citadel space to the Terminus Systems. 

Y/N: Wait, we're not going to go to him?

Shepard: The blockade isn't going to stop him. He's on Ilos looking for the Conduit right now! What are you doing about that?

Valern: Ilos is only accessible through the Mu relay, deep inside the Terminus Systems, Commander. If we send a fleet in there, the only possible outcome is full-scale war.

Udina: Now is the time for discretion, Commander's. Saren's greatest weapon was secrecy. Exposed, he is no longer a threat. This is over. 

Y/N: Send us after him! The Normandy can be discreet enough for us to get to Ilos.

Sparatus: You detonated a nuclear device on Virmire. I wouldn't call that discreet!

Y/N: ... I didn't blow up shit. 

Tevos: Your style served you well in the Traverse, Commander's. We recognize that. But Ilos requires a deft touch. We have the situation under control. 

Y/N: When every someone says 'We got it under control' Shit hits the fan.

Shepard: Sovereign's the real threat! Saren's just a servant of the Reapers!
