Michael was trying his best to act professional as he sat across from Charlotte. He placed his arms on the table and touched his fingertips together, trying to convey a sense of authority. "So, Charlotte," he began, "speak how I speak."
Charlotte, feeling a bit nervous, hesitated before responding. "Um... okay," she said, not quite sure what he meant.
"Hi... how are you?"
Michael clapped his hands together and smiled. "Great, that's a great first greeting!" he exclaimed before returning to his professional demeanor. He cleared his throat and instructed Charlotte to speak to Thomas in the same manner.
She approached Thomas, who was chatting with Kaleb at the time. "Hey Kaleb, would you like to go swimming as a pastime?" she asked, smiling.
Kaleb was taken aback by her more casual tone. "Yeah, sure, I'd love to," he replied nervously.
As Charlotte walked away, Michael took a different approach. "I just helped you seal the deal in!" he said confidently.
Thomas, however, wasn't impressed. "Yeah, that's great for you and all, but I don't know how to swim!" he said, shoving Michael aside as he stormed off to get a coffee.
