Buffy sat on the couch leaning over; angry.
"Are you ok, Buffy?" Dawn asked standing against the wall where Sam had been less than an hour ago.
"How are you ok with this?" Buffy asks staring blankly at Dawn.
"I know Sam will be back and their just trying to keep us safe"
"I can keep myself safe" Buffy says angrily.
"Buffy, I don't know what your problem is. Dean loves you and your acting like he pushed you out of his life"
"He is. I can help them" she said standing.
"Chill out. I'm just trying to understand" Dawn said rolling her eyes and walking up the stairs.
Buffy walked out of the house making Dawn turn around.
"Where are you going?!" She yelled to her sister.
"Patrolling" Buffy responded. Dawn ran up the stairs and sat on her bed. She stared at her closet.
After a while she stood and walked over to it and opened the door. She stared at her clothes until she found what she wanted. She reached up and pulled out one of Sam's shirts.
She turned off her light and laid down on her bed and started crying loudly. Tears ran down her face and she screamed out. Her feelings overwhelmed her; she was mad at Buffy, she missed Sam, and she was worried about both Sam and Dean. Why couldn't Buffy understand? She let sadness overtake her emotions and it pulled her into sleep.
••••••••
She dreamed of Sam. They were at a restaurant. She laughed at something he had said. In the corner of her eye she seen movement; it was Buffy. Her clothes were torn and she was drenched in blood. Not an inch of her body wasn't red. No one in the restaurant even noticed her.
"Buffy?" Dawn asked confused. Sam didn't seem to notice either.
Buffy kept walking toward her. She stood behind Sam and smiled viciously. She pulled a stake out of her boot and held it up, ready to stab. She plunged the stake down.
"No!" Dawn yelled standing as the stake went through Sam's head. Sam wasn't dead though, he stood and pulled the stake out of his head and all the blood faded. Buffy disappeared from behind him.
"How could you Dawn?"
"What?"
"How could you let her kill me?"
"I-I don't- kno-- I don't understand"
"You let her kill me, Dawn. If you really loved me you wouldn't let her kill me"
"I do love you"
"Shut up!" Sam said raising his hand.
"What are you do-"
Sam's hand lowered and his face softened.
"Dawn, I loved you" he whispered. She started to speak but he cut her off.
"But you let me go. You didn't even fight for me you just let me walk out the door. I loved you but I guess you didn't love me back"
"Please don't say that" Dawn whispered. Sam turned to walk out but Dawn grabbed his hand, crying.
"Don't go!" She yelled tugging on his sleeve. He pulled away roughly and left her behind.
•••••••
She woke up but kept her eyes closed. Fresh tears leaked over the dried paths on her cheeks. It was morning now. Dawn pulled herself up and rubbed her eyes. She heard something in the kitchen and headed down to investigate. As she turned the corner she heard someone going through the fridge.
"Buffy?" She said quietly. The thing in the fridge wasn't Buffy. It turned its head at her. It was some kind of demon it's teeth we're sharp and extended.
"Human" he snarled at her.
"My favorite snack" he said crawling toward her on all fours.
"Buffy!" Dawn shrieked and ran for the door. The thing jumped in her way making her scurry for the stairs.
"Buffy?" The demon whispered.
"The slayer?" He said crawling slowly on the stairs.
"She's already here, darling. How do you think I found your house?" He whispered and grabbed her leg pulling her down the stairs. She kicked and thrashed.
"What have you done!?" She screamed.
"Nothing. Yet. She's locked away, but don't worry if you cooperate everything will be ok" he breathed into her ear.
"What do you want?" Dawn growled at him.
"The Winchesters" he replied simply.
"I hear they'll come running if you and The slayer are in trouble"
"Why?"
"They killed a couple of my kind a couple years back and now seems perfect for revenge" he said moving his hands to hold down her arms.
"Now I'm gonna tell you what to do and your gonna do it or you'll feel a knife in your side" she shook her head up and down.
"Your gonna call them and say exactly what's happening but your gonna leave out the part of me telling you to call, got it?"
"Yes" Dawn whispered.
"Where's your phone?"
"In the living room" He stood slowly, not letting go of Dawns hands. He dragged her across the floor and to the phone.
"Type in the number" he snapped handing her the phone. She typed it in and listen to the ringtone.
"Hello?" Sam answered.
"Sam?" Dawn whimpered.
"What's wrong?"
"There's... There's something in the house. Please don't let me die, Sam" she whispered.
"Dawn, please just- just hang on" he said and hung up.
"I hate you" she said to the creature.
