The POV changes a lot but it's necessary.
TWI wake up due to the sun shining through my open curtains. Tristan was awake and turned to look at me. For some reason this didn't feel awkward it felt peaceful. I hate even the idea of sharing a bed with a man but this felt different. I felt safe.
"What?" I asked lifting my eyebrows confused.
"You know for someone who doesn't sleep more than three or four hours you surely slept in." He says and I sit up to look at the clock to my right and my eyes get big.
"I slept for six hours?" I whisper shocked and I look back at him. We went to bed around midnight because that's when I calmed down and now it's currently six in the morning.
"Yeah. I'm surprised I slept that long too." He says sitting up while shaking his head.
"Thank you," I say hugging him which surprises him but he doesn't push me off.
"You're welcome." He says lightly patting my back.
Someone knocks on the door making us quickly let go as we panic.
"One moment." I quickly yell.
"Hide," I whisper and he looks himself up and down.
"I won't fit anywhere and even if I did they would hear me." He whispers back. It's true this dude is a giant.
"Hide your giant ass under the covers." I quietly say opening the covers. Thankfully I had a thick comforter and many pillows.
"Yes?" I answer as the door opens revealing Nonna.
"Nonna," I say so Tristan can know who it is.
"Fuck." He mutters a little too loud.
"What?" She asks confused.
"Fuck it's a beautiful morning right?" I say moving my leg to slightly kick him and this dude pinches me so I roughly pat my sheets down aiming for his head.
"Ow." He whispers and I cough to cover it up.
"Good morning." Nonna slowly says and she looks at me confused but I decide to talk and try to get her out of here as soon as possible.
"How can I help you?" I ask with a smile.
"I just wanted to let you know breakfast is ready a little earlier than normal and almost everyone is downstairs." She says and I nod.
"I'll be down in a second," I say with a tight lip smile.
"Ok." She says as she turns around to walk away.
My heart rate begins to slow back down as she begins to close the door. That was close... too close.
"Oh, I almost forgot." She says with her back to me. "Good morning Tristan." She says turning around and my eyes get big before he pops out from under the sheets.
