Today is a big day. It's Nio's first Birthday. I have saved up just enough money to get him a little cupcake and a cute little superhero toy. I'll just have to make sure we sing him happy birthday in our closet so James doesn't hear us. He is the definition of a party pooper.

Me and the boys were home alone which was nice considering it meant that the house was peaceful. Nio deserves a peaceful birthday. I try to make Nio and Nino's birthdays as special as possible considering I don't even know when my own birthday is.

The only thing I'm really worried about is Lucy trying to take Nio again. She came three months ago and tried to take him. But when she saw him and how fussy he was she decided to wait. Ever since then I have been working and thinking of a plan on how to make sure she doesn't get her hands on him.

So far it's still a work in progress. I have just been so busy with work, school, and recovering from being with Ren. A few days ago marked one year free of Ren, but I'm not sure if I can count that considering he is in my head, and dreams. I still have scars to remind me of him.

"Ria?" Nino calls from downstairs.

"Yes, Nio?" I respond as I walk down the stairs and the hallway into the kitchen where both boys are.

Nio sees me and smiles big as he holds up his teething cracker. I smile seeing how big he has gotten already.

"Eat your cracker bud." I softy say with a smile while pointing to him and he tilts his head before looking at his cracker and taking a bite. "Good Job Nio." I smirk.

"Have you come up with a plan you know just in case?" Nino asks while leaning on the counter and nudging his head towards Nio.

I look up at him and slightly shake my head. "Not yet but don't worry I'll work something out." I always do. I obviously didn't say that last part because he shouldn't have to stress about it.

"Well, I took it upon myself to work on something." He says with a big smile which worries me.

"Do I even want to know?" I ask knowing that he will show me either way.

"Just prepare yourself." He says before picking Nio up. "We need a second to make sure we are on the same page." He loudly whispers to me before turning around with Nio still in his arms.

"Ok, Nio do you remember what we practiced?" Nino asks but doesn't get a response because Nio is busy looking over Nino's shoulder at me and waving.

"Don't distract him." Nino quickly says as I wave back at Nio.

"Well, I'm not going to ignore him." I flatly say and he sighs.

"Nio focus. This is our chance." Nino whispers before turning around to face me.
