I walk down for breakfast, I can't believe it's already been a week since I had that breakfast with Chongyun and Hu Tao. Not much has happened, but Dad has gotten even busier, he looks stressed and I can't help but worry.

"Good morning, Xingqiu." My mother says as I walk into the dining room, she looks stressed too but faintly smiles.

"Good morning!" I sit down, "Dad's not here again?" I pout.

She shakes her head, "I'm afraid not... but that reminds me, Xingqiu you need to take a special training camp for a little bit while your fathers are busy."

My eyebrows furrow, "What's it for? Is dad ok?" I speak, my voice lowering.

"Don't worry about him," she smiles, "It's... things you haven't learned about." She pauses for half a second, "for when you're king."

Anxiety wells up inside of me, being king makes me feel so overwhelmed. "...Oh, ok!"

After a few awkward minutes, Hu Tao walks in, "Good morning!~"

I smile brightly and turn towards her, "Good morning, Hu!"

"Good morning, Hu Tao." My mom says, again with her usual monotone voice.

"Hi!" Hu Tao says, sitting in her chair and smiling.

Food gets brought out and we all eat, I can't tear my thoughts away from what's happening in the city. I wish people would tell me instead of sugarcoating everything, I don't get why no one trusts me. I think of Chongyun and my thoughts get lighter, burdens don't feel as heavy and my worries don't seem so bad, it makes me smile.

"Thank you for the food!" Hu Tao chirps and stands, walking towards the door and pulling me away from my thoughts.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it," my mom finishes her last bite.

I quickly finish my food too, "Mom?"

She turns to me as she's standing up from the table, "Yes?"

"When's the training?" I stand up as well.

"Today, around noon." She walks out of the room, I hear her heels click down the hall.

I stand there shocked, "Thanks for giving me time to prepare..." I mumble to myself and trudge to my room.

There isn't anything to do while I wait for training, I have like two hours. I walk to my balcony and lean against the railing, letting myself zone out as I look through the early crowds and courtyard. I see a familiar boy with light blue hair alone in the courtyard, Chongyun.

I lean over the railing, "Chongyun!" I shout.

He looks up from the dummy he was training with, "Xingqiu?" He walks towards my balcony.

"Hi!~" A wide smile creeps on my face, "What are you doing?"

He holds up his weapon, "Just training." He smiles back at me.

"Cool!" I stop leaning against the railing, "Stay in the courtyard, I'm coming down!" I walk into my room.

"Ok!" I hear him shout as I close the balcony door.

I rush down to the courtyard, "Hi, Yun Yun!" I walk into the courtyard and sit on a bench near him.

His face becomes a shade of light pink, "Hey!" He doesn't turn to look at me and keeps swinging at the dummy.

"I didn't know exorcists needed fighting skills," I ask, not in a teasing tone but a genuinely curious one.

He cocks his head towards me, "It's more for defense, and some demons get violent."
