Prince. (Xingqiu x Chongyun)

Part 12: Boyfriend

I woke up extremely early the next morning, I had trouble sleeping. It wasn't because I was stressed but because I was so happy.

I hurry out of the house not long after getting ready, the sun just finished rising. A few shops start to open and I see a small cafè in front of me. I step inside, I could get him some breakfast since it's so early.

The owner looks up from one of the tables as I walk in, he looks shocked to see me but smiles and walks behind the counter. "Prince Xingqiu! Welcome, is there anything you want? Or would you like to see the menu?"

"Can I see the menu?" I walk towards the counter.

He reaches into a drawer and hands me a menu, "Take your time, we usually never have any customers this early."

"Thank you," I look down and flip through a few pages.

I walk out of the cafè with two boxes of food in my hand and a popsicle. It surprised me that they had the popsicles he liked on the menu, I'm sure he's missed them. It didn't take very long for the food to be done, the owner was nice. I found out that it's a family-run business, his wife is pregnant and they have a sixteen-year-old son who helps out in the kitchen. I know it's not important, but it's so interesting to learn how people live in this town.

I step into Bubu Pharmacy, and Baizhu and Qiqi look up as I step in.

"You're here early, what for?" He stands up from his chair.

"Just..." I take a step towards the hallway, "Figured I'd bring breakfast for Chongyun, and I brought one of his favorite popsicles."

He smiles, "How thoughtful of you, he may still be sleeping so try not to wake him up."

I nod, "Alright."

I walk to his room and gently open the door, he's still sleeping. I sit down in my usual chair and put his box of food next to him on a small end table, as well as the popsicle.

I open my box of food and start eating, I'll have to leave earlier today... Hu Tao said she could invite Yanfei over so I could tell her.

I'm nearly done with my food when he wakes up, I watch him rub his eyes. "Good morning!" I smile.

He jumps and turns his head to me, "Xingqiu! You scared me..." He sighs and sits up.

I giggle, "Sorry~ But I got you breakfast, and your favorite popsicles!"

His eyes open slightly wider and he reaches for the popsicle, it's partly melted now but still frozen enough to eat. "Thank you." He unwraps it and puts it in his mouth, "Mm~ I've missed these."

"I'm glad I got it for you then," I grin. "You should eat your actual food before having a popsicle though."

He squints at me, "You would do the same." He starts to smile.

I wink at him, "I would." After a few moments of silence, I speak up again. "I need to leave around noon today, Hu Tao is inviting Yanfei over."

He nods, "Okayy," He drags his voice out, disappointed.

"Don't worry, I'll be back tomorrow." I lean my face towards his and ruffle his hair.

His face reddens, "I'll still miss you," his voice softens to just above a whisper.

"I'll miss you too." I look between his eyes and he hesitantly moves closer.

My eyes glance down to his lips and I close the distance between us, a short and sweet kiss but long enough that I can taste the mint of his popsicle and feel the warmth of his body.
