EPISODE ONE. Pilot

Dear Diary,

My life changed forever last summer. In so many different ways. First, my parents died in a car accident; luckily, my sister Elena was saved. As for me, well, I wasn't saved.

You might be thinking, what are you talking about, Cass? You're here, writing in your diary, telling us about how your life changed. Well, when I woke up, I met this guy. I don't really remember his name or care to. He told me that he saved me from dying by turning me into a vampire.

I'm getting used to it now, at first, it was hard resisting the urges to try and eat my brother and sister alive. However, blood lust was really hard to contain. But, that's how my life changed. I turned into a vampire, and my parents were dead. And now I have to go back to high school.

Cassandra didn't get to finish her diary entry when her Aunt Jenna walked into the room with coffee in her hand and an exhausted smile on her face. Cassandra quickly closed her diary and stuffed it under her pillow and stood up.

"Get dressed for school." Jenna then walked out of the room, closing the door behind her.

Cassandra smiled before gulping and closing her blinds since the sun was bright. She then moved to the mirror and started showing her vampire face. God, she felt so...ugly, every time she used it. Suddenly, she heard the door open and quickly turned normal.

"I'm not ready for the first day back," she heard her sister, Elena, say as she sighed and looked at her sister with a frown.

"It'll be fine. We can't be broken forever, Lena," Cassie told her as she grabbed her bookbag and walked out of the room past Elena.

"Toast. I can make toast," Jenna said as she talked to Jeremy, the two girls' little brother, as she hurried around.

I know she panicked, especially since she's become a parent out of nowhere.

"It's all about the coffee, Aunt Jenna," Elena laughs as she comes downstairs behind Cassie.

"Is there coffee?" Jeremy asked.

"Didn't you have coffee this morning?" Cassie asked as she bit an apple and started ruffling Jeremy's hair, causing him to push her.

"Your first day of school, and I'm totally unprepared," Jenna groans as she moves around the kitchen, "Lunch money?"

"We're fine!" Cassie laughs, "Is Bonnie here?"

"She should be--" Suddenly, there was a honk, letting the girls know their ride to school was here.

--

The girls were now being driven to school by their mutual friend, Bonnie Bennett. Bonnie was more Elena's best friend than she was Cassie's, but the girl loved her just as much. Elena sat in the front, while Cassie sat in the back, lost in her own world. However, she couldn't help but eavesdrop on the conversation happening in the front seat.
