EPISODE TWO. The night of the cometDear Diary,
Dear diary, this morning is...different. There is change. I can sense it, feel it. I'm awake. For the first time in a long time, I feel completely and undeniably wide awake. For once, I don't regret the day before it begins. I welcome the day... Because I know, For the first time in a long time, I feel good.
Cassandra sighed as she looked beside her to see a sleeping Cecelia. She had snuck out last night for a snack and decided to grab her diary from her room on the way back.
"So, where were you last night, Cass?" growled Cecelia as she turned over sleepily.
"I had..." Cassie tried to find an excuse, "I went to my house again but decided to just come back. Didn't know you had bedhead."
"I do not have bedhead!" Cecelia scoffed as she sat up, playing with her hair.
Cassie smiled and placed her diary down after closing it, then looked at her best friend with a smile. She liked the fact that she had someone who had her back... even if she couldn't tell her all her secrets.
"Thanks for letting me stay here last night," Cassie thanked.
"No problem, you know you can come to me with anything," Cecelia smiled, grabbing her friend's hand as they looked at each other.
"We need to get to school," Cassie said, before climbing out of Cecelia's bed and moving to put something from Cecelia's closet on.
"Oh... okay," Cecelia nodded before getting out of her bed.

"Originally discovered nearly five centuries ago, it hasn't passed over Mystic Falls in over 145 years. Now, the comet will be at its brightest right after dusk during tomorrow's celebration," Mr. Tanner said before turning to Elena and Stefan, who were staring at each other. Cassandra raised her eyebrow at them and asked, "Are we bothering you, Mr. Salvatore? Ms. Gilbert?"
Elena shook her head as she looked at her desk and slowly turned her head to her sister, who was giving her a look. She had been wondering where she had been all morning.
When class ended, Stefan walked toward Cassie, who was at her locker. She turned to him and gasped in shock.
"Stefan," she greeted.
"Cassandra," he said. "I brought you something."
"Are you trying to win me over?" Cassie asked, raising an eyebrow as she grabbed the book he had handed to her. " 'Wuthering Heights' by Ellis Bell. Hmm, thanks. I guess I'll read it."
"I have a feeling you didn't like me," Stefan said.
"What gave it away?" Cassie said, placing the book inside her locker and closing it.
